Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, high on the Roseland Landscape, these two converted barns afford spacious ground floor holiday accommodation, with commanding views across the countryside. Situated just 6 miles from St Mawes, they are 1 mile from a golden sandy beach and a short drive from many other beautiful beaches. Although completely self-contained, they may be booked together. This idyllic part of South Cornwall has much to offer visitors, including a picturesque coastal walk leading to St Anthony Head, with its superb views of Falmouth and the Black Rock. St Mawes itself abounds with restaurants, pubs and shops, and its clover-leaf shaped castle, built by Henry VIII, is well worth a visit. In summer there are boat trips up the river, passing through beautiful wooded creeks. Shops 6 miles, pub, the famous Roseland Inn, ½ mile.

Although dating from the 13th century, the inn was named after the ship sent to Tahiti to capture the mutineers of Captain Bligh's Bounty. Take afternoon tea at the end of the pontoon, or sit under beamed ceilings for an evening meal of tasty, locally sourced food.
The Ole Ale House is much more than a pub, it is an entertainment venue and foodies heaven. This traditional pub is ideally located in the heart of Truro making is easy to locate where you will be met with a warm and friendly welcome. They serve a diverse variety of ales, craft ciders, speciality beers and lagers, there is something to appeal to all palates accompained by complimentary monkey nuts. The chefs are all River Cottage trained and using the best of locally sourced produce they have created an unusual menu that has so much to offer with delicious home-cooked heart warming dishes, tasty sharing platters and delectable snacks, all perfectly cooked and well presented. The park is friendly and welcoming and is home to a wealth of attractions and activities for all the family to enjoy as well as serving as a Conservation project. The Jungle Barn indoor play centre offers hours of fun. There are lots of exotic and rare and unusual birds and animals here, many having being rescued, they are well cared for and appear to be happy. The free bird shows are entertaining and exciting with the birds getting close to you. In addition there are lots of daily events such as feeding time, displays and talks there is something for everyone. The kids farm is great and you can get close to, touch and even feed the animals, there are two play areas, a train and much more. The gardens are beautiful and there is lots of stunning and colourful plants that emit lovely aromas, with lots of benches to sit on, providing a nice relaxed environment. Staff are friendly and will happily answer any questions you have. The Otter Pool Cafe is warm and welcoming and offers a nice selection of drinks, hot and cold dishes and snacks, at reasonable prices. The Gift Shop offers a nice choice of gifts and related souvenirs that are also reasonably priced and there is something to suit all budgets. Paradise park does a great job, it is well kept and very clean and the animals appear to be happy, prices are very reasonable for all that is on offer here, there is something for everyone and makes for a great family day out, highly recommended.

Cadgwith is actually two small beaches separated by a small narrow headland known as the Todden. Known as Little Cove, one is the 'pleasure' beach and the second is a working beach, usually full of at least 10 or so fishing boats.
Perranporth Beach is one of the finest beaches in Cornwall, and is popular for a variety of activities including, swimming, sailing, snorkelling, surfing and much more. It is a wide beach extending to about three miles of soft golden sand, offering ample space for beach games and the waters are a beautiful clear blue. There are rock pools to explore and the sand dunes are perfect for clambering along as well as providing a natural habitat for a wealth of local wildlife, also caves and caverns just waiting to be explored. Owing to the vastness of the beach it never feels too busy even on those days when it is. It is located close to the town and is easily accessible from here. When the tide is out it is possible to walk along the beach to Ligger Point. Perranport Beach is clean and well patrolled, with a lifeguard in the summer months, it is close to many amenities, a beautiful beach that offers the perfect family day out, with something for everyone, not to be missed if you are in the area.

Daymer Bay Beach is a beautiful beach golden sandy beach with dunes that extend from Daymer Bay to Rock. At the north of the bay you will find rock pools to explore and rocks to clamber over. It is very popular with families who love the calm, clear waters that are perfect for swimming in, and when the tide is out there is plenty of opportunity to build sandcastles or enjoy walks along the large stretches of sand. The beach enjoys excellent views out over the Camel Estuary. There is a car park close by making the beach easily accessible. There are toilets located here as well as the Daymer Bay Beach shop and cafe where you can purchase light refreshments as well as beach items although only open seasonally. Daymer Bay Beach is safe and clean and makes for a lovely beach to visit especially if with children and does not get as busy as other beaches nearby.
Relax on the sandy beach of this is a small coastal town. Pay a visit to the small souvenir shops and enjoy an ice-cream whilst walking along the harbour.
This 11 mile long-distance footpath and cycle trail links the historic mining harbours of Portreath in the North and Devoran in the South. The trail is mostly off-road and should take about five hours to walk. You can hire bikes at Bissoe, Nancekuke or Portreath.
A great traffic free and largely level route that is perfect for family outings. At just under 3 miles long, it is an easy and delightful trail to explore.

The Camel Trail is one of the most successful popular walking, cycling and riding routes in the UK, leading through spectacularly beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line linking Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. Great for family trips as the route is largely level and there is little traffic. There are bicycle hire shops at Wadebridge and Padstow.
This is a hilly route taking in forest tracks and quiet coastal and inland lanes in the Looe and Polperro area, as well as a short stretch on a busy road. On reaching the beach section, why not take a break from your exertions?

This fairly energetic route includes five steep hill climbs and some off-road woodland tracks as it follows quiet lanes up the East Looe River to Liskeard, returning via the West Looe Valley. It can also be adapted to start or finish at Liskeard.

This short 18 hole course is well designed and well maintained and has lovely landscaping. It is an excellent pitch and putt course with defined tees, interesting holes, fast fairways, semi rough and rough and the greens are through, it is more like a golf course. The course is challenging but fun. There is no need to book or take along any equipment everything is supplied here. Prices are very reasonable adults play for £7 and children up to 14 are only £4 for a round. There is a nice clubhouse cafe that is welcoming and cosy, where you can relax after a round and enjoy the hospitality and delicious range of hot and cold dishes, snacks and beverages that are all made using local Cornish produce and are real value for money. There is also a nice terrace area for those nice sunny days. They are open From February through to October from 10.00am until dusk each day. Gwinear Pitch and Putt offers a fun and enjoyable round of golf within a beautiful location, excellent hospitality, customer service and prices too, a real gem, highly recommended.

It has nineteen fully lit, all weather bays offering a safe and protected area to practise your swing and drive. It comes with targets to test your accuracy as well as distance markers. Next to the range is a 12-hole course with a selection of holes that range in length offering the ideal environment to test your skills. The course is scenic, the greens are in good condition, holes are mostly par 3 or 4 but there are a few 5's and it offers challenges to golfers of all abilities. They provide all equipment so you don't need to take anything along. Other facilities available here are a fully-equipped training suite, state of the art indoor golf simulator, pro shop and a new addition is the Croquet Golf course, mini golf with a croquet twist, it offers a fun activity that all the family can play and enjoy. Designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, Rame Head's local habitat provides a haven for many species, especially insects and birds — the Peregrine Falcon can now be seen along with many other birds of prey.
In winter, many birds flock to this reservoir including wigeon, coot, tufted duck, poachard and Canada geese. In the spring, a large number of sand martins, house martins and swallows frequent the area.
Part of the Fal Estuary, The area known as the Carrick Roads is so deep it regularly attracts great numbers of sea-going birds in the winter. Looe beach near Feoch seems to offer the best access for viewing one of the largest flocks of wintering Black Neck Grebes in the UK
A wonderful world of colours and sounds, Wingz promotes conservation and education using a private collection of birds and animals.
The most southerly peninsula in England, the Lizard has high cliffs making it a popular area for gannet watching. During times of migration, it is also a good place to see swallows, swifts, warblers and flycatchers. In the winter months turnstones and purple sandpipers often come up to the shoreline, and in spring oystercatchers can also be found.
With commanding views over the stunning St Michael's Mount, this beautiful marshland has Cornwall's largest reedbed. There are over 250 species of bird and more than 500 plant varieties to be found on the site.
Golitha Falls are found within an ancient area of woodland that is next to the river Fowey that, flows past and then turns into wonderful cascades that drop 90 metres in altitude. The ground is pretty level and offers walks that are suited to most abilities, although not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies, as many areas turn into woodland paths with protruding tree roots. The area extends to eighteen hectares of ancient oak woodland and has been classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest owing to the woodland flora found here, with bluebells, wood anemones and much more thriving here. There is an abundance of wildlife as well with many animals residing in this natural habitat including dormice and several species of bat, moths and butterflies. The river is also home to many species of fish including, salmon, sea trout as well as otters. After heavy rain it is pretty spectacular here as the waters gush over the falls. Although it is a popular spot and can get busy it still maintains a sense of tranquillity and is simply nature at its best. Golitha Falls are not huge waterfalls but more like water rapids regardless they are still impressive and a beautiful sight. If you enjoy nature and lovely woodland walks then Golitha Falls will not disappoint.
Tender trees and plants flourish at Enys, one of the oldest gardens in Cornwall. Robert de Enys lived here during the reign of Edward I, and in 1709, the garden was noted for its fine planting. Today's garden is based on the designs of 1833.
A very English country garden with herbaceous borders and many areas dedicated to different colours of plants. A series of 'garden-rooms' surround the Georgian house. The plants sold here are all grown at Bosvigo and include many hard-to-find species.

The family home to the Tremayne family for over 400 years, this remarkable setting holds a great deal of intrigue and mystery. At the turn of the century decline had set in very rapidly and the gardens were neglected. A storm in 1990 revealed them once again and captured the imagination of those that discovered them. Ties to the 19th century as well as the First World War were found and the daunting task of restoration was begun. Well worth a visit. (Dogs allowed between October and March)
Skinners Brewery is a relatively new family owned brewers to the Cornwall region but they have already firmly established themselves as distinguished brewers and received a number of awards to reflect this. Their award winning ales are produced here using locally grown barley and other local ingredients and traditional methods to produce their fine ales. They are located in the gorgeous city of Truro and you can take a guided tour of the brewery to see first hand the processes involved in producing their ales, you see a short DVD presentation and then get shown around the site, you can taste the hops as well as seeing the brewing process. The staff are excellent, friendly, animated and knowledgeable they make the tour interesting, humorous and informative. There is a visitor centre where you can relax and enjoy a sample of some of their award winning ales in a traditional pub setting. Skinners Brewery is a fantastic brewery tour, one of the best around and should not be missed even if you are not an ale connoisseur.
Lemon Street Market is a fabulous indoor market that is located in the heart of Truro and is home to a diverse collection of shops, that have an organic, natural, health or renewable theme, a restaurant, cafe and gallery. It is a lovely spot that is lively and bustling with a cosmopolitan feel, you can stroll around soaking up the atmosphere or stop for a bite to eat at the Explorers Restaurant and enjoy a tasty dish from their diverse contemporary menu; where possible ingredients are sourced locally and all food is cooked fresh. You will find the staff to be friendly and the service is very good and the prices are also very good, really reasonable. The Lander Gallery is home to a wonderful collection of Cornish art that blends classic and contemporary art in the one space, all pieces have a Cornish influence resulting in some stunning works of art. It is a lovely bright, contemporary space that is spacious and all pieces are well displayed. Lemon Street Market offers an unrivalled specialist shopping experience as well as being a great place to just hang out.
Poppy Cottage Garden is located in the centre of the stunning Roseland Peninsula, the grounds extend to about one acre and provide a riot of colour all through the year. The planting is arranged into a series of rooms, being individual small gardens that are planted with bulbs, herbaceous, grasses, shrubs and exotic plants, that have all been strategically placed, the lawns are immaculate and there are some water features too. The gardens are predominantly colour themed and it is a truly beautiful sight when they are in full bloom and the fragrances that fill the air are delightful. There are plenty of places for you to sit and enjoy the different aspects of the gardens whilst enjoying a cup of coffee and a slice of home-made cake. They have the biggest selection of Quads and one of the best circuits around, the track extends to over a mile with long runs, jumps, tight corners and banked corners. Godrevy Head is located at the far end of St Ives Bay. The coastline here is breathtaking and the area is so tranquil and peaceful. Truro Cathedral is an immediately recognisable landmark on the landscape, the towers can be seen for miles around, located in the centre of the city it is easy to locate this beautiful architectural building, with its many fine features. The Cathedral has a long history and incorporates part of an old church dating to at least 1259, the first stone for the current Cathedral was laid in May 1880 with work finishing in 1887. Inside a sense of peace and reflection emits from the building which is very calming. The inside is equally as stunning as the exterior having undergone considerable restoration, there are fantastic stained glass windows, spectacular woodwork and carvings, intricate plasterwork, it is so ornate and beautiful, real craftsmanship is on display here. There are guided tours operated by experienced guides who will tell you all about the intriguing history of the Cathedral, they are both friendly and knowledgeable. The Cathedral is open every day throughout the year so visiting couldn't be easier. There is no charge to enter the Cathedral but they do rely on donations and there are boxes around where a donation can be made. Another way of helping is buying one of the guidebooks which are on sale in the gift shop or perhaps a coffee from the coffee shop. Truro Cathedral is a simply stunning historic building with many wonderful features and a rich history too, it is a lovely place to walk around soaking up the tranquil atmosphere and history.

Wheal Peevor is an amazing ancient tin mine site located close to Redruth. The site underwent restoration to make it a safe, educational and enjoyable area for visitors. Work was needed to make the twelve mineshafts safe as well as the three Grade II listed engine houses. There is much to explore here from the three engine houses, remains of mining relics, to the network of tracks and trails that cover the site as well as a great selection of flora and fauna. As you wander around you will come across finder points and interpretation boards that provide a detailed and comprehensive history of the site. It has an interesting history playing an important role during World War One. The engine houses are predominantly ruins but you can get feel of how it would have been, the mineshafts are impressive with some shafts extending to 600ft. There is no admission charge for Wheal Peevor and it is accessible at all times. From its vantage point you get fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, and can enjoy the peacefulness of the area and the lovely walks it provides.
East Pool Mine is located at the centre of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, over two sites that are only about five hundred metres apart, where you will find here a great representation of the former and powerful mining industrial heritage of the area. The main site is East Pool mine that is home to two large beam engines that were powered by high-pressure steam boilers. They are maintained in the towering engine houses and serve as a reflection of Cornwall's days as a world renowned centre of industry, engineering and innovation. The pumping engine here is the biggest remaining Cornish beam engine in the world. The restored winding engine can be seen operating each day. The Discovery Centre offers the opportunity to watch films, see a number of interesting and informative displays and models, and there are knowledgeable guides who have an in depth knowledgeable of the history of Cornish mining and will impart the dramatic history of the area and a number of interesting stories. It is a great family and hands on attraction with special activities to entertain children, including dressing up, and they are able to interact and touch many of the exhibits. There is a small area near reception where you can get tea and coffee, also located here is a small shop that sells a nice choice of mining related items and local history books. Being an old mine there are a number of steps and uneven pathways so might not be suitable for everyone. East Pool Mine is open during the week and at certain weekend days during the year, there is a charge for entry and full details are on the Website.

St Hugh's Church is located in the heart of the charming village of Quethiock, in a peaceful and picturesque spot. A church has been on this site as far back as Norman times although there was most likely a Celtic settlement on the site around the 6th century, dedicated to Saint Cadoc. In the grounds is an ancient Celtic Cross that stands at more than 13 feet high and is in great condition, it dates from either the 7th or 9th century. The original Norman church was cruciform. The current church was mostly constructed in the 14th century and is made of sandstone, it is beautifully preserved and maintained. There are many original fine features of this lovely church remaining including the wagon roof a great example of pre-reformation work thought to have been done by the monks of Tavistock Abbey, in addition to brass memorials, marble memorials, a sundial, stained glass windows, a wall painting behind the altar and lovely wood workings, the slender tower that rises from the roof is unusual. It still holds regular services on a Sunday where everyone is welcome to join the friendly congregation. St Hugh's Church serves as a reminder of the social and religious history of England, it has a lovely atmospheric feel and provides a place of solace and for reflection amidst its modest surroundings, worth seeking out if you are in the area and like history and old buildings.
