The children will love the sandy beaches and Smugglers Tunnel. The adults and children alike will enjoy the botanical gardens and small zoo, and no visit would be complete without a traditional Devon cream tea. Visitors to Shaldon will always remember the quaint cottages, narrow streets, village shops and a great choice of restaurants, cafés and Inns. From Torquay take a trip to the theatre, or see the penguins wondering freely at Living Coasts. Take a ferry to Brixham and see a working fishing port. With many walking opportunities from the door it is an ideal base for walkers, birdwatchers or just for a peaceful rest. The historic city of Exeter is only 20 minutes’ drive away while the famous South Devon Coast with wonderful sandy beaches are on your doorstep.
