This former hayloft barn dates back to the 17th century, is attached to the owners’ farmhouse, and is conveniently situated just off the A39, approximately 2 miles from the centre of Glastonbury. This comfortable holiday cottage has been restored and renovated to a good standard, keeping much of its original charm and character with exposed stone walls and a flagstone floor in the kitchen. The pretty garden has a river running just behind the hedge. There are many interesting attractions and places to visit nearby including Glastonbury which is well known for its King Arthur legends, the Tor, the Abbey and the annual music festival. Wells is England’s smallest city set around a cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace. Wookey Hole has spectacular show caves and family attractions, and Cheddar Gorge is Britain’s grandest limestone ravine, carved through the Mendips. Enjoy a nostalgic trip into the age of steam on the West Somerset railway; and the Fleet Air Museum has Europe’s largest naval collection of aircraft. The coastal resorts of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare are an easy drive away, as are the cities of Bath and Bristol. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
