This delightful period farmhouse, one of a pair, nestles peacefully in the Hamstead Heritage Coast – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, rich in wildlife and birds. In a stunning conservation area, the holiday property is a short walk to the historic Newtown Creek, and set in woodlands, it offers direct access onto bridle, cycle and walk ways. The farmhouse was originally farm cottages to Hamstead Grange and parts of the property are believed to date back to Tudor times, when the grange was owned by the Monks of Quarr Abbey on the island. Island attractions include The Needles, with chair lift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay. The 17th-century Calbourne Water Mill, Carisbrooke Castle, plus Osborne House and Gardens are a short drive away. Historic Yarmouth is worthy of a visit and the island can be easily explored from the open-top buses that stop regularly at various collection points across the whole island. Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK is nearby, and island attractions include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Isle, and a donkey sanctuary. Beach 1 mile. Shop 1½ miles, pub 1 mile.
