These four outstanding, eco-friendly holiday properties (refs PGGU, PGGV, PRRY and PRRZ), constructed from cedar and larch, are located within the grounds of Calbourne Water Mill, which is set in 10 acres of landscaped gardens. Observe the traditional flour making process, antique engines, renewable energy centre, threshing machine, restored farm wagons, war time museum and fire station. Also enjoy on-site punting, miniature golf, clay play, swings and licensed café (Apr to Oct). The Needles, with chair lift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay, are a short distance away. Carisbrooke Castle and Osborne House and Gardens are a short drive away. Historic Yarmouth is worthy of a visit, and the island can be easily explored from the open-top buses that stop regularly at various collection points across the island. Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, is nearby, and island attractions include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Isle and a donkey sanctuary. The impressive south coast and Tennyson Down, with its many walks, are only minutes away. Beach 3 miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles.
