This delightful, cosy holiday cottage, an annexe to the owners’ home, has a pretty and well-furnished interior, ideal for couples that are looking for a peaceful and rural location. It is situated in the picturesque, little village of Horsebridge, on the banks of the River Tamar on the Devon/Cornwall border. As the name implies, this cottage was formerly the forge and stable for travellers stopping off at the inn. The long stone bridge at Horsebridge dates back to the 1400s. There is a lovely pub in the village and some nice walks along the river. Horsebridge is in a superb location from which you can explore the wider region, including the historic market towns of Tavistock and Launceston. There are several National Trust properties in the area and lots of interesting places to visit close by. The owners make their own apple juice from their old apple orchards and have previously won the ’Taste of the West’ awards for their range of homemade jams and chutneys, so guests could take a taste of Devon back home. Beach 22 miles. Shop 4½ miles, pub 20 yards, restaurant 2 miles.

All on ground floor: 4 steps to living room with dining area and slate floor. Kitchen with wooden floor. 1 double (5ft) bedroom. Wet room with toilet.
