The village has 3 good pubs and a shop, and is the perfect base from which to enjoy Cornwall. The surfing town of Newquay has seven stunning beaches, and many attractions including zoo, sealife centre, leisure centre, golf course, pitch ’n’ putt, parks and gardens. The area also has many restaurants, cafes, shops and cliff top walks. Nearby are Creally Adventure Park and Lappa Valley Steam Railway. With surfing beaches and surf schools, why not try this exhilarating sport? Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached with the narrow streets to explore, and enjoy the restaurants, shops, museum, cinema and theatre for an alternative day or evening out. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire, is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the narrow streets that all lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambience provided by this tradtional working fishing village. The Camel Trail is a level walk and cycle route, linking the town to Wadebridge, and hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Camel Estuary, all the way along this stunning trail. Cycle hire is available at both ends of the trail, why not cycle from Wadebridge to Padstow, and enjoy fish and chips on the harbour from Rick Stein’s takeaway before the cycle home. The Cobbles provides the ideal base to explore further afield with the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and many National Trust houses, parks and gardens close by including Lanhydrock House and Trerice Manor. St Ives, Falmouth, Fowey and Mevagissey are all easily reached and all provide an alternative day out. Golf, cycling, horse riding, surfing, sailing and kayaking all available locally.
