The Coach House resides in the High Weald, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the village of Fairlight with views across to the sea from the shared grounds. This detached holiday property has retained many original beams and features, and is set adjacent to the owner’s medieval hall house, which dates back to around 1340. Guests have shared use of the owner’s swimming pool by arrangement. The Coach House is ideally placed for leisurely walks, as Hastings Country Park borders the property and offers 660 acres of dramatic headland and cliff-tops with most of the park designated as a Special Conservation Area and Site of Special Scientific Interest. Areas of the park are also known as ‘The Firehills’ which date back to the days of smuggling when contraband was landed and brought inland via a series of tunnels to local cottages! The views from here are stunning; enjoy views east over the Dungeness marshes to Hythe, and looking south on a sunny day, guests can enjoy views of the French coast. The closest beach is just 2 miles away, offering several miles of walking or cycling along the sea defence walls. The surrounding lowlands attract wildfowl and waterbirds providing an opportunity for some excellent bird watching. The cosmopolitan town of Hastings is approximately 5 miles away, home to Europes largest beach launched fishing fleet and the filming of the TV series Foyles War. Rye, 5 miles, is a maze of cobbled streets that have been a haven for artists and writers, its illustrious former residents include Henry James and H.G Wells. Camber offers miles of golden sand dunes, and Battle, not only the site of one of the most famous encounters in history but also home to a large gunpowder works, which kept British ships loaded throughout the Napoleonic Wars and most likely supplied the powder used in the Guy Fawkes gunpowder plot! Beach 2 miles. Shop 50 yards, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Beamed open-plan living/dining room with kitchen area. Two beamed double bedrooms, each with 5ft bed. Bathroom with shower attachment, toilet and tiled floor.
