These spacious and well-presented holiday homes (refs 30639 and 30640), set within the owners’ smallholding, are perfectly placed to enjoy the dramatic North Cornwall coast, as they face unspoilt National Trust land overlooking the coast. The stunning beach of Chapel Porth is close by and has a café for breakfast by the beach. Porthtowan with its children’s play area, sand dunes, beach bar, surf school and local pub has all the ingredients for a great holiday. The beach is backed by dramatic cliffs with stunning views from the Cornish Coastal Path that hugs the top of the cliffs and drops into the village walk to St Agnes in the east and Portreath to the west to enjoy the views out to sea. Tehiddy Country Park is close by and a must for nature lovers – a large wood with a network of foot paths and cycle trails. Another great tourist attraction is the Cornish Treasure Park, which celebrates the areas rich gold mining heritage. St Ives, home to the outstanding Tate Gallery, is close by and an essential destination, with its award-winning restaurants and golden beaches. Truro with its theatre, shopping, cinema and cathedral is easily reached and both offer a great taste of Cornwall. Porthtreath, a short drive away is the start of the Coast to Coast cycle path and bike hire is available locally. The Ole Ale House is much more than a pub, it is an entertainment venue and foodies heaven. This traditional pub is ideally located in the heart of Truro making is easy to locate where you will be met with a warm and friendly welcome. They serve a diverse variety of ales, craft ciders, speciality beers and lagers, there is something to appeal to all palates accompained by complimentary monkey nuts. The chefs are all River Cottage trained and using the best of locally sourced produce they have created an unusual menu that has so much to offer with delicious home-cooked heart warming dishes, tasty sharing platters and delectable snacks, all perfectly cooked and well presented. The service is friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive. Food is served each day from middy to 2.30pm and again from 5.30pm to 9.00pm. On a Friday night you will find a band playing, they can be local acts or come from further afield. They hold a number of events throughout the year that include beer and food matching classes, chef talks and producer evenings in addition to guest brewers who explain their brewing processes followed by tasting at their Beer School tasting nights. Open daily from 11.00am to late each night with longer opening hours on a Saturday. The Ole Ale House is a great local, a friendly and traditional pub with a lively atmosphere and great food and drinks, should not be missed.

In addition there are lots of daily events such as feeding time, displays and talks there is something for everyone. The kids farm is great and you can get close to, touch and even feed the animals, there are two play areas, a train and much more. The gardens are beautiful and there is lots of stunning and colourful plants that emit lovely aromas, with lots of benches to sit on, providing a nice relaxed environment. Staff are friendly and will happily answer any questions you have. The Otter Pool Cafe is warm and welcoming and offers a nice selection of drinks, hot and cold dishes and snacks, at reasonable prices. The Gift Shop offers a nice choice of gifts and related souvenirs that are also reasonably priced and there is something to suit all budgets. Paradise park does a great job, it is well kept and very clean and the animals appear to be happy, prices are very reasonable for all that is on offer here, there is something for everyone and makes for a great family day out, highly recommended.

Polzeath is renowned as a great surfing beach. A gentle walk along the coast path will take you to the picturesque Bedruthen steps or the breathtakingly beautiful Watergate Bay, home to Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Fifteen.
Daymer Bay Beach is a beautiful beach golden sandy beach with dunes that extend from Daymer Bay to Rock. At the north of the bay you will find rock pools to explore and rocks to clamber over. It is very popular with families who love the calm, clear waters that are perfect for swimming in, and when the tide is out there is plenty of opportunity to build sandcastles or enjoy walks along the large stretches of sand. The beach enjoys excellent views out over the Camel Estuary. There is a car park close by making the beach easily accessible. There are toilets located here as well as the Daymer Bay Beach shop and cafe where you can purchase light refreshments as well as beach items although only open seasonally. Daymer Bay Beach is safe and clean and makes for a lovely beach to visit especially if with children and does not get as busy as other beaches nearby.
Against a dramatic cliff backdrop, turquoise waters make Kynance Cove the ideal beach for swimmers. Popular since Victorian times, it is now owned by the National Trust who conserve its natural beauty and keep it safe.
An interesting and somewhat unusual beach with a fascinating church at its northern side. It is situated on the Lizard Peninsula near Helston and has a golf course to its east. Explore some other coves whilst there and go for a wander around the church.
Simple and unspoilt, this coarse sand beach can boast the interesting backdrop of the brightly painted daymark on Gribbin Head. Excellent cliff walks over to Fowey, or to the daymark, make it ideal all year round.
A secluded and south facing shingle beach, Lantic Bay gets the very best of the sunshine. With plenty of coves to explore, it's a popular spot for boats to moor.
This 11 mile long-distance footpath and cycle trail links the historic mining harbours of Portreath in the North and Devoran in the South. The trail is mostly off-road and should take about five hours to walk. You can hire bikes at Bissoe, Nancekuke or Portreath.
A great traffic free and largely level route that is perfect for family outings. At just under 3 miles long, it is an easy and delightful trail to explore.
A walk recommended by the National Trust, this trail includes areas particularly good for seeing wildlife, viewing the spectacular scenery and for visiting places of historical interest. Ranked easy to moderate at about 3 miles, this is a great route to do at a leisurely pace soaking up the amazing scenery as you go.
The Camel Trail is one of the most successful popular walking, cycling and riding routes in the UK, leading through spectacularly beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line linking Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. Great for family trips as the route is largely level and there is little traffic. There are bicycle hire shops at Wadebridge and Padstow.
Starting at Land's End the route passes through Penzance, Hayle, Cambourne and Redruth. Near Truro, you can opt to head south to Mevagissey, St Austell and The Eden Project or continue on to Bodmin.
Best explored by canoe, on foot or by bike, this majestic tidal river flows through a gloriously varied landscape, from dark forest, hidden creeks, lush meadowland and timeless villages to the natural harbour at Polruan and Fowey.
Gwinear Pitch and Putt is located in an idyllic location in Reawla within in ten acres of beautiful countryside. This short 18 hole course is well designed and well maintained and has lovely landscaping. It is an excellent pitch and putt course with defined tees, interesting holes, fast fairways, semi rough and rough and the greens are through, it is more like a golf course. The course is challenging but fun. There is no need to book or take along any equipment everything is supplied here. Prices are very reasonable adults play for £7 and children up to 14 are only £4 for a round. There is a nice clubhouse cafe that is welcoming and cosy, where you can relax after a round and enjoy the hospitality and delicious range of hot and cold dishes, snacks and beverages that are all made using local Cornish produce and are real value for money. There is also a nice terrace area for those nice sunny days. They are open From February through to October from 10.00am until dusk each day. Gwinear Pitch and Putt offers a fun and enjoyable round of golf within a beautiful location, excellent hospitality, customer service and prices too, a real gem, highly recommended.

Hayle Golf Range is located in the beautiful location of Hayle within stunning Cornwall countryside. It is a friendly and welcoming centre and the staff are great, professional, amicable and helpful. It has nineteen fully lit, all weather bays offering a safe and protected area to practise your swing and drive. It comes with targets to test your accuracy as well as distance markers. Next to the range is a 12-hole course with a selection of holes that range in length offering the ideal environment to test your skills. The course is scenic, the greens are in good condition, holes are mostly par 3 or 4 but there are a few 5's and it offers challenges to golfers of all abilities. They provide all equipment so you don't need to take anything along. Other facilities available here are a fully-equipped training suite, state of the art indoor golf simulator, pro shop and a new addition is the Croquet Golf course, mini golf with a croquet twist, it offers a fun activity that all the family can play and enjoy. Designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, Rame Head's local habitat provides a haven for many species, especially insects and birds — the Peregrine Falcon can now be seen along with many other birds of prey.
In winter, many birds flock to this reservoir including wigeon, coot, tufted duck, poachard and Canada geese. In the spring, a large number of sand martins, house martins and swallows frequent the area.

With commanding views over the stunning St Michael's Mount, this beautiful marshland has Cornwall's largest reedbed. There are over 250 species of bird and more than 500 plant varieties to be found on the site.
The most southerly peninsula in England, the Lizard has high cliffs making it a popular area for gannet watching. During times of migration, it is also a good place to see swallows, swifts, warblers and flycatchers. In the winter months turnstones and purple sandpipers often come up to the shoreline, and in spring oystercatchers can also be found.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, they are all highly trained and professional. Before commencing you are given full tuition and a safety briefing. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced rider there is a quad and circuit to suit you. It is an activity that all the family or a group can take part in, there are particular quads for those aged six upwards. The ATV Centre offers a safe and controlled environment to enjoy this exciting and thrilling sport in an very organised environment. There are benches at the side or on the footbridge where you can observe the riders or take some photos. The centre is open daily throughout the year and offers excellent value for money, highly recommended if you are looking for a fun and exciting activity.

Godrevy Head is located at the far end of St Ives Bay. The coastline here is breathtaking and the area is so tranquil and peaceful. It offers the opportunity to see a seal colony that reside here in the cove, they often come onto the beach to stretch out and bask in the sunshine, make sure to take along a pair of binoculars to get the best views of them. It also offers lovely walks along the cliff tops, the sand or amongst the dunes. Children will love searching out stones and shells, or examining the rock pools. The Kidz R Us theatre in St. Ives was founded in 1993 by members of the St. Ives Operatic Society. It originally provided a one off performance for charity purposes. After seeing tremendous success, Kidz R Us has gone on to become a local staple in entertainment. More than 50 musicals have been put on since the organisation came to be.
Poppy Cottage Garden is located in the centre of the stunning Roseland Peninsula, the grounds extend to about one acre and provide a riot of colour all through the year. The planting is arranged into a series of rooms, being individual small gardens that are planted with bulbs, herbaceous, grasses, shrubs and exotic plants, that have all been strategically placed, the lawns are immaculate and there are some water features too. Wheal Peevor is an amazing ancient tin mine site located close to Redruth. The site underwent restoration to make it a safe, educational and enjoyable area for visitors. Work was needed to make the twelve mineshafts safe as well as the three Grade II listed engine houses. There is much to explore here from the three engine houses, remains of mining relics, to the network of tracks and trails that cover the site as well as a great selection of flora and fauna. As you wander around you will come across finder points and interpretation boards that provide a detailed and comprehensive history of the site. It has an interesting history playing an important role during World War One. The engine houses are predominantly ruins but you can get feel of how it would have been, the mineshafts are impressive with some shafts extending to 600ft. There is no admission charge for Wheal Peevor and it is accessible at all times. From its vantage point you get fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, and can enjoy the peacefulness of the area and the lovely walks it provides.
East Pool Mine is located at the centre of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, over two sites that are only about five hundred metres apart, where you will find here a great representation of the former and powerful mining industrial heritage of the area. The main site is East Pool mine that is home to two large beam engines that were powered by high-pressure steam boilers. They are maintained in the towering engine houses and serve as a reflection of Cornwall's days as a world renowned centre of industry, engineering and innovation. The pumping engine here is the biggest remaining Cornish beam engine in the world. The restored winding engine can be seen operating each day. The Discovery Centre offers the opportunity to watch films, see a number of interesting and informative displays and models, and there are knowledgeable guides who have an in depth knowledgeable of the history of Cornish mining and will impart the dramatic history of the area and a number of interesting stories. It is a great family and hands on attraction with special activities to entertain children, including dressing up, and they are able to interact and touch many of the exhibits. There is a small area near reception where you can get tea and coffee, also located here is a small shop that sells a nice choice of mining related items and local history books. Being an old mine there are a number of steps and uneven pathways so might not be suitable for everyone. There are three boats in the fleet, they are all similar in specification, length and painted in the same colours with each boat taking over 120 passengers, all are excellently maintained. On board you can get a snacks and hot refreshments and there are toilet facilities as well. They offer a choice of leisurely tours that take you past iconic maritime locations, historic houses and landmarks, take you close to ocean going vessels that are anchored up on the far end of Fal, the scenery is constantly changing. Truro Cathedral is an immediately recognisable landmark on the landscape, the towers can be seen for miles around, located in the centre of the city it is easy to locate this beautiful architectural building, with its many fine features. The Cathedral has a long history and incorporates part of an old church dating to at least 1259, the first stone for the current Cathedral was laid in May 1880 with work finishing in 1887. Inside a sense of peace and reflection emits from the building which is very calming. The inside is equally as stunning as the exterior having undergone considerable restoration, there are fantastic stained glass windows, spectacular woodwork and carvings, intricate plasterwork, it is so ornate and beautiful, real craftsmanship is on display here. There are guided tours operated by experienced guides who will tell you all about the intriguing history of the Cathedral, they are both friendly and knowledgeable. The Cathedral is open every day throughout the year so visiting couldn't be easier. There is no charge to enter the Cathedral but they do rely on donations and there are boxes around where a donation can be made. Another way of helping is buying one of the guidebooks which are on sale in the gift shop or perhaps a coffee from the coffee shop. Truro Cathedral is a simply stunning historic building with many wonderful features and a rich history too, it is a lovely place to walk around soaking up the tranquil atmosphere and history.

Now part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, the park is set in the grounds of two former working china clay pits. Discover how the china clay was mined, what it was used for and what it meant to the families who lived in the area.
The largest preserved mining site in the UK, Geevor was, until 1900, a working tin mine. Now a museum with many surface buildings, it offers guided underground tours through 18th and 19th century workings.
A collection from the 1830s onwards of the telegraph company records from England and around the world. The museum is located in World War II tunnels built to guard against enemy bombs and houses an incredible array of working equipment from the war years. Well worth a visit.
