The Ole Ale House is much more than a pub, it is an entertainment venue and foodies heaven. This traditional pub is ideally located in the heart of Truro making is easy to locate where you will be met with a warm and friendly welcome. They serve a diverse variety of ales, craft ciders, speciality beers and lagers, there is something to appeal to all palates accompained by complimentary monkey nuts. The chefs are all River Cottage trained and using the best of locally sourced produce they have created an unusual menu that has so much to offer with delicious home-cooked heart warming dishes, tasty sharing platters and delectable snacks, all perfectly cooked and well presented. Paradise park does a great job, it is well kept and very clean and the animals appear to be happy, prices are very reasonable for all that is on offer here, there is something for everyone and makes for a great family day out, highly recommended.

Staff are friendly, trained and helpful especially in getting the younger drivers going. The track is well designed with long straight sections, a chicane and lots of fast twists and turns as well as being wide so it is possible to overtake. At the end of each session you are given a print off of your lap speed. It is not necessary to book you can just turn up and drive. You can come along with family or friends or take on a stranger. It is a fast and exhilarating activity that everyone aged three and over can get involved in, and is suited to all weathers. Kartworld offers fun and thrills in a safe environment to everyone and it is excellently priced for what you receive, a great time to be had by all ages and abilities.

Perranporth Beach is one of the finest beaches in Cornwall, and is popular for a variety of activities including, swimming, sailing, snorkelling, surfing and much more. It is a wide beach extending to about three miles of soft golden sand, offering ample space for beach games and the waters are a beautiful clear blue. There are rock pools to explore and the sand dunes are perfect for clambering along as well as providing a natural habitat for a wealth of local wildlife, also caves and caverns just waiting to be explored. Owing to the vastness of the beach it never feels too busy even on those days when it is. It is located close to the town and is easily accessible from here. There is also a beach cafe, The Watering Hole, that serves a good choice of beverages and snacks, they are open during the busy summer months. When the tide is out it is possible to walk along the beach to Ligger Point. Perranport Beach is clean and well patrolled, with a lifeguard in the summer months, it is close to many amenities, a beautiful beach that offers the perfect family day out, with something for everyone, not to be missed if you are in the area.

Daymer Bay Beach is a beautiful beach golden sandy beach with dunes that extend from Daymer Bay to Rock. At the north of the bay you will find rock pools to explore and rocks to clamber over. It is very popular with families who love the calm, clear waters that are perfect for swimming in, and when the tide is out there is plenty of opportunity to build sandcastles or enjoy walks along the large stretches of sand. The beach enjoys excellent views out over the Camel Estuary. There is a car park close by making the beach easily accessible. There are toilets located here as well as the Daymer Bay Beach shop and cafe where you can purchase light refreshments as well as beach items although only open seasonally. Daymer Bay Beach is safe and clean and makes for a lovely beach to visit especially if with children and does not get as busy as other beaches nearby.

The Camel Trail is one of the most successful popular walking, cycling and riding routes in the UK, leading through spectacularly beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line linking Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. Great for family trips as the route is largely level and there is little traffic. There are bicycle hire shops at Wadebridge and Padstow.
This 11 mile long-distance footpath and cycle trail links the historic mining harbours of Portreath in the North and Devoran in the South. The trail is mostly off-road and should take about five hours to walk. You can hire bikes at Bissoe, Nancekuke or Portreath.

It is an excellent pitch and putt course with defined tees, interesting holes, fast fairways, semi rough and rough and the greens are through, it is more like a golf course. The course is challenging but fun. There is no need to book or take along any equipment everything is supplied here. Prices are very reasonable adults play for £7 and children up to 14 are only £4 for a round. There is a nice clubhouse cafe that is welcoming and cosy, where you can relax after a round and enjoy the hospitality and delicious range of hot and cold dishes, snacks and beverages that are all made using local Cornish produce and are real value for money. There is also a nice terrace area for those nice sunny days. They are open From February through to October from 10.00am until dusk each day. Gwinear Pitch and Putt offers a fun and enjoyable round of golf within a beautiful location, excellent hospitality, customer service and prices too, a real gem, highly recommended.
Hayle Golf Range is located in the beautiful location of Hayle within stunning Cornwall countryside. It is a friendly and welcoming centre and the staff are great, professional, amicable and helpful. It has nineteen fully lit, all weather bays offering a safe and protected area to practise your swing and drive. It comes with targets to test your accuracy as well as distance markers. Next to the range is a 12-hole course with a selection of holes that range in length offering the ideal environment to test your skills. The course is scenic, the greens are in good condition, holes are mostly par 3 or 4 but there are a few 5's and it offers challenges to golfers of all abilities. They provide all equipment so you don't need to take anything along. Other facilities available here are a fully-equipped training suite, state of the art indoor golf simulator, pro shop and a new addition is the Croquet Golf course, mini golf with a croquet twist, it offers a fun activity that all the family can play and enjoy. Golitha Falls are found within an ancient area of woodland that is next to the river Fowey that, flows past and then turns into wonderful cascades that drop 90 metres in altitude. The ground is pretty level and offers walks that are suited to most abilities, although not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies, as many areas turn into woodland paths with protruding tree roots. The area extends to eighteen hectares of ancient oak woodland and has been classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest owing to the woodland flora found here, with bluebells, wood anemones and much more thriving here. There is an abundance of wildlife as well with many animals residing in this natural habitat including dormice and several species of bat, moths and butterflies. The river is also home to many species of fish including, salmon, sea trout as well as otters. After heavy rain it is pretty spectacular here as the waters gush over the falls. Although it is a popular spot and can get busy it still maintains a sense of tranquillity and is simply nature at its best. Golitha Falls are not huge waterfalls but more like water rapids regardless they are still impressive and a beautiful sight. If you enjoy nature and lovely woodland walks then Golitha Falls will not disappoint.
With commanding views over the stunning St Michael's Mount, this beautiful marshland has Cornwall's largest reedbed. There are over 250 species of bird and more than 500 plant varieties to be found on the site.
A very English country garden with herbaceous borders and many areas dedicated to different colours of plants. A series of 'garden-rooms' surround the Georgian house. The plants sold here are all grown at Bosvigo and include many hard-to-find species.
The family home to the Tremayne family for over 400 years, this remarkable setting holds a great deal of intrigue and mystery. At the turn of the century decline had set in very rapidly and the gardens were neglected. A storm in 1990 revealed them once again and captured the imagination of those that discovered them. Poppy Cottage Garden is located in the centre of the stunning Roseland Peninsula, the grounds extend to about one acre and provide a riot of colour all through the year. The planting is arranged into a series of rooms, being individual small gardens that are planted with bulbs, herbaceous, grasses, shrubs and exotic plants, that have all been strategically placed, the lawns are immaculate and there are some water features too. The gardens are predominantly colour themed and it is a truly beautiful sight when they are in full bloom and the fragrances that fill the air are delightful. Set on the rugged Cornish coastline, Tintagel has attracted poets, artists, historians and sightseers since the Victorian era. It is famous for its associations with the legend of King Arthur and the round table.
The Kidz R Us theatre in St. Ives was founded in 1993 by members of the St. Ives Operatic Society. It originally provided a one off performance for charity purposes. After seeing tremendous success, Kidz R Us has gone on to become a local staple in entertainment. More than 50 musicals have been put on since the organisation came to be.
Godrevy Head is located at the far end of St Ives Bay. The coastline here is breathtaking and the area is so tranquil and peaceful. It offers the opportunity to see a seal colony that reside here in the cove, they often come onto the beach to stretch out and bask in the sunshine, make sure to take along a pair of binoculars to get the best views of them. It also offers lovely walks along the cliff tops, the sand or amongst the dunes. Children will love searching out stones and shells, or examining the rock pools. It is also home to lots of different species of birds and gorgeous wild flowers. Just off the coast is the lighthouse that served as inspiration for Virginia Woolf. It can get busy as it is a very popular spot especially during the summer months. The Looe Valley line connects the busy market town of Liskeard with the charming fishing port of Looe. The journey incorporates the best of the Cornish countryside with beautiful views, taking in all that the area has to offer from ancient wooded valleys, an abundance of local wildlife, stunning estuary views and lots more. Travelling by steam creates a sense of nostalgia for older visitors and younger visitors will love riding on the choo choo train. The carriage is comfortable and clean. It is a quirky ride in that the driver gets out half way through the journey changes the points and gets in the opposite end of the train to continue the journey. Along the route are Coombe Junction Halt, St Keyne Wishing Well Halt, Causeland and Sandplace, all offering their own attractions. The trains operate daily and trains run hourly throughout the day. Prices are excellent and represent great value. Although only a short route it is scenic route through the valley and a lovely relaxing way to enjoy the beauty of the part of Cornwall.

Climb aboard one of the three miniature railways, which include the East Wheal Rose, Woodland Railway and Newly Branch Line. The area is also a lush wildlife conservation space.
Truro Cathedral is an immediately recognisable landmark on the landscape, the towers can be seen for miles around, located in the centre of the city it is easy to locate this beautiful architectural building, with its many fine features. The Cathedral has a long history and incorporates part of an old church dating to at least 1259, the first stone for the current Cathedral was laid in May 1880 with work finishing in 1887. Inside a sense of peace and reflection emits from the building which is very calming. The inside is equally as stunning as the exterior having undergone considerable restoration, there are fantastic stained glass windows, spectacular woodwork and carvings, intricate plasterwork, it is so ornate and beautiful, real craftsmanship is on display here. There are guided tours operated by experienced guides who will tell you all about the intriguing history of the Cathedral, they are both friendly and knowledgeable. The Cathedral is open every day throughout the year so visiting couldn't be easier. There is no charge to enter the Cathedral but they do rely on donations and there are boxes around where a donation can be made. Another way of helping is buying one of the guidebooks which are on sale in the gift shop or perhaps a coffee from the coffee shop. Truro Cathedral is a simply stunning historic building with many wonderful features and a rich history too, it is a lovely place to walk around soaking up the tranquil atmosphere and history.
Now part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, the park is set in the grounds of two former working china clay pits. Discover how the china clay was mined, what it was used for and what it meant to the families who lived in the area.
Wheal Peevor is an amazing ancient tin mine site located close to Redruth. The site underwent restoration to make it a safe, educational and enjoyable area for visitors. Work was needed to make the twelve mineshafts safe as well as the three Grade II listed engine houses. There is much to explore here from the three engine houses, remains of mining relics, to the network of tracks and trails that cover the site as well as a great selection of flora and fauna. As you wander around you will come across finder points and interpretation boards that provide a detailed and comprehensive history of the site. It has an interesting history playing an important role during World War One. The engine houses are predominantly ruins but you can get feel of how it would have been, the mineshafts are impressive with some shafts extending to 600ft. There is no admission charge for Wheal Peevor and it is accessible at all times. From its vantage point you get fabulous views of the surrounding countryside, and can enjoy the peacefulness of the area and the lovely walks it provides.
Enterprise Boats is a well established family business offering you boat rides that take you to see some of the most picturesque and beautiful coastlines, in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are three boats in the fleet, they are all similar in specification, length and painted in the same colours with each boat taking over 120 passengers, all are excellently maintained. They offer a choice of leisurely tours that take you past iconic maritime locations, historic houses and landmarks, take you close to ocean going vessels that are anchored up on the far end of Fal, the scenery is constantly changing. East Pool Mine is located at the centre of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, over two sites that are only about five hundred metres apart, where you will find here a great representation of the former and powerful mining industrial heritage of the area. The main site is East Pool mine that is home to two large beam engines that were powered by high-pressure steam boilers. They are maintained in the towering engine houses and serve as a reflection of Cornwall's days as a world renowned centre of industry, engineering and innovation. The pumping engine here is the biggest remaining Cornish beam engine in the world. The restored winding engine can be seen operating each day. The Discovery Centre offers the opportunity to watch films, see a number of interesting and informative displays and models, and there are knowledgeable guides who have an in depth knowledgeable of the history of Cornish mining and will impart the dramatic history of the area and a number of interesting stories. It is a great family and hands on attraction with special activities to entertain children, including dressing up, and they are able to interact and touch many of the exhibits. There is a small area near reception where you can get tea and coffee, also located here is a small shop that sells a nice choice of mining related items and local history books. Being an old mine there are a number of steps and uneven pathways so might not be suitable for everyone. St Hugh's Church is located in the heart of the charming village of Quethiock, in a peaceful and picturesque spot. A church has been on this site as far back as Norman times although there was most likely a Celtic settlement on the site around the 6th century, dedicated to Saint Cadoc. In the grounds is an ancient Celtic Cross that stands at more than 13 feet high and is in great condition, it dates from either the 7th or 9th century. The original Norman church was cruciform. The current church was mostly constructed in the 14th century and is made of sandstone, it is beautifully preserved and maintained. There are many original fine features of this lovely church remaining including the wagon roof a great example of pre-reformation work thought to have been done by the monks of Tavistock Abbey, in addition to brass memorials, marble memorials, a sundial, stained glass windows, a wall painting behind the altar and lovely wood workings, the slender tower that rises from the roof is unusual. It still holds regular services on a Sunday where everyone is welcome to join the friendly congregation. St Hugh's Church serves as a reminder of the social and religious history of England, it has a lovely atmospheric feel and provides a place of solace and for reflection amidst its modest surroundings, worth seeking out if you are in the area and like history and old buildings.
At low tide you can wander over the causeway on foot to this rugged and fascinating little island, the setting for an extraordinary maritime garden first laid out in the 18th century. At high tide, it's a short boat trip away.
