Located in the small village of Middleton, just 1 mile from the historic market town of Pickering, this holiday cottage, conveniently located on a main road in a rural location, dates back to 1843 and oozes charm and character. It is in an ideal spot for exploring both the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire. Pickering is steeped in history and the cobbled streets are lined with antique curio shops, inns and tea rooms. The town is also home to a small theatre, a 12th century castle and the NYM steam train. The North Yorkshire Moors railway departs Pickering for the 18-mile journey through the glorious Esk Valley into Grosmont and Goathland will leave lasting memories. The ancient sea port of Whitby is 18 miles away, and boasts a colourful harbour and ancient abbey ruins. Cyclists and walkers will love this area. Dalby Forest hosts the world mountain bike event and there’s easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors, where bridle paths and cycle tracks lead to quaint little villages, with tea rooms and inns serving some of Yorkshire’s finest cuisine. The minster city of York is easily accessed for a more sophisticated day - visit the Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre, the railway museum and the many shops in the centre.
