Set in the grounds of the owner’s home, which extend to 20-acres, these charming former stables are surrounded by wonderful countryside and have been converted to a very good standard. It is a superbly convenient holiday base for the world heritage city of Bath with it’s historic buildings, world famous theatre and river trips, as well as the city of Wells, Glastonbury Tor, Longleat House and Safari Park, Cheddar Gorge and caves, Stourhead and Wookey Hole. Close by is the village of Kilmersden, home to the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill. There are local shops and a takeaway in the village of Coleford 2 miles away. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches to the west and south, such as Lyme Regis, Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea. It also makes a perfect place from which to cycle, walk, play golf and horse ride. There are facilities on site to bring your own horse by prior arrangement with the owner. Mostly on B roads and country lanes, this cycle route comes in at just under 9 miles. There are a couple of steep inclines so it can be quite tough going in places. However, the lovely setting makes it all worth while!

This 36 mile route passes Cheddar. It's not an easy route as there are some steep hill climbs and lots of twists and turns but it does travel through woodland which offers a pleasant change of scenery and a chance to vary the sights and sounds of the trail.
