Set in 7 acres with two carp lakes

Netherbridge Farm is a cluster of beautiful stone barns (refs 29861 to 29866) converted into simply stunning holiday homes. The properties are superbly equipped with bright, light contemporary interior décor and furnishings and are set in 7 acres of private lawned grounds with two pretty lakes stocked with carp, and a paddock where sheep graze alongside the lakes. Netherbridge was formerly a working farm, now totally redeveloped and landscaped; located just off the A388 on the outskirts of Launceston, this is a superb location for exploring both Cornwall and Devon being so close to the River Tamar which forms the border between the two counties. The properties are ideal for couples, families with children or groups of friends to come and relax in tranquil surroundings. For a larger family, two or more cottages may be booked together to enjoy a holiday as a group and there is plenty of space here for all. The properties are open all year round and offer short breaks and flexible arrival days, so whether its for a summer week in Cornwall or a short break when its quieter in the autumn and winter, there is always a home from home on offer here. Launceston, or Lansun as the Cornish pronounce it, is an historic town, with the ruins of the Norman castle, built around 1070 AD, perched high up on a hill. There is a good shopping area for essential items and lots to do in and around the area for all ages. Visit the castle, take a trip on a steam train at Launceston Steam Railway, see otters playing and learn about nature at the Tamar Otter Park, step back in history at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, enjoy a round at Trethorne Golf Club or explore The Tamar Trail. There are some fabulous beaches along the North Cornwall coastline, and the Atlantic coast ranges from gorgeous sandy beaches, ideal for young children, to surf beaches for the more adventurous. Stunning coastal vistas of dramatic cliffs and hidden coves and picturesque harbours can also be admired. One such harbour is Port Issac where the TV series ‘Doc Martin’ is filmed. Another favourite is Tintagel, steeped in the mystery of kings and dragons. Bude is a family favourite, and Crackington Haven is popular with holidaymakers and local alike. High up on Bodmin Moor, just south of Launceston, is the famous Jamaica Inn - the smugglers’ inn written about by the author Daphne du Maurier. Nearer home and just down the road from Netherbridge Farm is Homeleigh Garden Centre, a fabulous place to visit which is stocked with beautiful plants. Not just a garden centre, it has much more on offer, including a large restaurant, pet area, gifts and kitchenware, clothing, ponds and garden ornaments, and a large farm shop selling a great selection of local produce. You can stop off before you leave and stock up on some Cornish plants or foods to take back home as a memento of your holiday here in truly glorious Cornwall. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile.
