Set in a sleepy village location in the Northern Pennine Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this 18th-century, terraced former miner’s cottage offers a comfortable holiday base from which to explore this unspoilt area. It is a haven for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, anglers and artists. Built into the fellside, the stairs take you to a rear sitting-out area. This historic region has a range of interesting places to visit, including the Killhope Lead Mining Centre, High Force Waterfall and Bowes Museum. Alternatively, the cobbled market town of Alston, 10 miles, has individual shops, art gallery, tea rooms and character pubs. With easy access to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, The Lake District, the Durham Dales, Northumbrian Coast and the Scottish Borders all within easy driving distance.
