Located in the village of Hengrave, just a short distance from historic Bury St Edmunds, Garden Cottage is a charming, Grade II listed, single-storey barn conversion that dates back to 1853 and which has a delightful private garden area. Adjoining the owners’ home, it has been lovingly and stylishly restored to provide a welcoming holiday retreat at any time. An ideal base to explore the delights of Suffolk. Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral and abbey ruins also offers outstanding examples of Georgian architecture particularly the Theatre Royal, built in 1819, a rare example of a Georgian Playhouse, there is an excellent range of interesting shops, restaurants and pubs. National Trust properties can be found at nearby Ickworth Park and Anglesey Abbey and gardens. Also worth visiting are Newmarket for a day at the races, the city of Cambridge and Ely with its 12th-century cathedral. With 3 golf courses nearby, a good area for cycling and walking, it’s an ideal location for the more active. Shop 1 mile and pub ½ mile.

Beamed living room with vaulted ceiling and wooden floor. Dining room/kitchen with beams. Double bedroom with 5ft bed (zip & link) and TV. Shower room with toilet.
