The National Maritime Museum sits proudly in Events Square, alongside the busy marina, harbour and port. Falmouth has many beautiful sandy beaches and coves, and its busy waterways provide visitors with small ferry services to nearby St Mawes and Flushing. Take the sea safari to watch wildlife including dolphins, basking sharks and seals. Pendennis Castle and St Mawes Castle face each other across the water; both open to the public and have regular events including jousting and historic tours. The Lizard Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has some wonderful quiet coves, harbours and scenic coastal walks to explore.
