Also close by is Watergate Bay, the home of kite surfing and the beautiful beach setting for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant. Newquay is just down the coast where guests will find the famous surfing beach at Fistral, as well as the zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium, and a number of family-friendly beaches.
There are many picturesque Cornish towns and villages to visit whilst on holiday including Fowey, Mevagissey, Falmouth, Port Isaac (location for the TV series Doc Martin) and St Ives. Popular local places of interest include the Roseland Peninsula, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the wild expanse of Bodmin Moor. Not to be missed either is the Eden Project at St Austell, with its giant biomes growing all manner of exotic plants and rainforests. Further afield, a drive out leads to Lands End, the Minack Theatre in the rocks near Porthcurno, St Ives with its Tate Modern, Barbara Hepworth’s home, sculpture garden and studio.
