The surrounding scenery of the North Pennine hills (an AONB) is stunning. There are walks along the river bank and on the hills behind the property, and there is easy access to Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District and Wearside. The market town of Alston, with its quaint cobbled streets and interesting shops and galleries, is 2½ miles and is the highest market town in England. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
