Avalen, Cornish for apple tree, is a stylish holiday home with views across the owners’ beautiful gardens and to the countryside beyond. Close to the remarkable Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays Castle and the Eden Project, this comfortable home is the perfect place to stay for touring Cornwall. There are golden beaches, country walks, cycle trails and quaint Cornish fishing villages that cling to the dramatic coastline just minutes away. Avalen provides a quiet and peaceful retreat but is within reach of both coasts and many man-made and natural attractions. The seafaring town of Fowey can be reached by ferry from nearby Mevagissey and is a must for visitors. Charlestown, home to sailing ships, has some excellent shops, pubs and restaurants and is a World Heritage Site. You can take an evening stroll from Avalen to some excellent local pubs for dinner or enjoy an alfresco lunch on your own private patio. Golf, horse riding, sailing, cycling and sea fishing are all available nearby. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
