The wall extends to 10ft and has more than 50 routes to climb to the top, it is quite an achievement to get to the top and pretty high too. If you are not climbing or need some refreshments after your activity there is a nice cafe next to the climbing area. High Sports offers you the opportunity to try something new that is fun and exciting in a safe and controlled environment.
Festival Wakeboard Park is a state of the art Cable Wakeboarding facility located in Basildon Essex. The site is equipped with all the latest equipment to cater to beginners, those that want to enhance their skills and serious wakeboarders. The staff here are excellent, very friendly, attentive, patient and professional and safety conscious so you can rest assured you are in safe hands here. They operate a range of classes and lessons where you will learn how to get on the board right through to big air tricks. It is not as easy as it looks but nevertheless, a truly enjoyable and fun experience, at the end you will be exhausted but have a real sense of achievement. All equipment can be hired here so it is not necessary to take anything along. The facilities are very good and the hot showers are a warm welcome at the end of your session. The minimum age to take part is 8 so it is an event that most of the family can get involved in. If you are looking to try something new take yourself to Festival Wakeboard Park where you will have an amazing experience.
Barnards Farm Miniature Railway is run by a team of volunteers, it opened back in September 2010 and has been a continual source of fun and enjoyment for families. The track is a 7 1/4 inch gauge that takes steam, diesel/hydraulic, petrol and electric locomotives, it runs from the car park to Belevedere Station and back which covers 1.4km, you can see the sculptures in the garden as you travel along. The train operates from April through to December on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays as well as Saturdays in the summer months, it also opens for special open days at other times. A great place to visit especially if you have children that love Thomas the Tank Engine. Afterwards you can visit the gardens and enjoy some refreshments here in the welcoming and homely barn. The cost for the railway is very reasonable and once paid you have access to the trains all day. They do Santa Specials at Christmas time. The staff are lovely, really friendly and helpful. They are looking to extend the track so it will offer an even better experience. Barnards Farm Miniature Railway is a lovely day out for all the family, relaxing and fun, a real treat.
The Ashdown herd of llamas and alpacas was started in 1987. Over the years the numbers have increased and there are now more than 100 of them at the park. As well as llamas and alpacas there are also three reindeer.

Woodlands Manor Golf Club is a long established club, located in the valley and offers some spectacular views. It is an 18 hole par 69 mature parkland golf course. The course is well designed and maintained and in very good condition, the fairways play long, the greens are fast and the rough is thick . It is a testing course and will therefore, challenge all level of golf player, with its undulating fairways and alterations in elevation. There are beautiful views from some of the holes, the eigth hole in particular. You will find Woodlands to be a very welcoming and friendly club and the staff to be friendly, hospitable and most professional. The clubhouse is sociable and pleasant, there is a good food menu, the food is tasty and served promptly and offers excellent value for money. Other facilities here include a practise facility with grass driving range, short game area, chipping and putting greens and a practise bunker. Woodlands Manor Golf Club is a friendly club that is welcoming to all and offers a great golfing experience when you play here.
Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club has a long history with evidence of cricket dating back to 1734. Located in the centre of Sevenoaks, this beautiful club avails of fantastic views across the North Downs. The club is totally amateur and they are an accredited Focus Club and play Kent Premier League cricket here. They are a friendly and welcoming golf club that is open to everyone. Sittingbourne Golf Club offers a good round of golf, in a welcoming club with well priced green fees.

Bentley Golf Club is quite a new course but has already established itself as a premier club here in Essex. It is an 18 hole parkland course designed by Alex Swan and is located in lovely surroundings, with a good variety of holes. This rolling course is tricky in some places and therefore offers challenges to all level of player, it also has a number of obstacles including water features, deep bunkers, ditches and trees. The course is well maintained, the greens are fast and smooth. The most memorable hole on the course is the sixteenth. The club is very welcoming to non members and the staff throughout are very friendly, helpful and professional. The facilities here are very good and the clubhouse is comfortable and welcoming and they have a good menu, the food is very good, well cooked and presented and represents real value for money. There is also a putting green and practice green here. Bentley Golf Club is a great club to play, friendly staff, beautiful course and really reasonable green fees, it ticks all the boxes, highly recommended.

It is open every day and offers free entry to the general public and is wheelchair accessible. It provides a place of peace and tranquillity with two nature trails that you can follow and enjoy the scenery and sounds of the woodlands. There are also a number of rustic benches dotted around where you can sit and savour the peacefulness of the reserve. Noak Bridge Nature Reserve also serves as a natural habitat to a number of wildlife and insects, including butterflies, several species of dragonfly, whirligig bettles, frogs, newts, ducks, jays and woodpeckers . There are five permanent and two temporary ponds located here, that provide great growing conditions for a number of plants and shrubs as well as a home for grass snakes. Fairfield Halls have been an important and important social and cultural hub here in Croydon for more than fifty years. It attracts some of the biggest stars and hosts a diverse and entertaining schedule of performances including comedy, dance, opera, music, drama, cinema and much more. Inside it is modern and roomy and well laid out, it has excellent facilities also the acoustics and lighting are very good. Seating is comfortable and roomy enough. As it is not a huge theatre it has a nice intimate and friendly feel about it. There is a nice bar area that stocks a good selection of drinks that are fairly priced and a cafe that serves a good selection of snacks and refreshments at very reasonable prices. The staff are very good friendly, helpful and attentive and enhance the experience here. Fairfield Halls are the perfect venue to see a major production in a locally, reasonable ticket prices and a nice friendly venue.

It is a historic building being the birthplace of modern air traffic control. It is located in the world's oldest Air Traffic Control Tower, although the exhibition space is not very big it holds loads, there is a fantastic collection of interactive displays, exhibits and visual images documenting the history of Croydon airport as a World War I airfield through to being London's first international airport and its eventual closure in 1959. You do not have to book in advance for the guided tours. The volunteers are brilliant, so polite, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Cloud 9 Pantry is a lovely cafe that serves a nice selection of snacks and light lunches, prices are very good. They operate a number of Open Days throughout the year, so worth keeping an eye out for these. Croydon Airport Visitor Centre is a must if you like aviation history, even you aren't a aviation fan there is plenty to keep you entertained and interested, an enjoyable and pleasant attraction.

Thorndon Country Park is divided into Thorndon Park North, that is home to the Countryside Centre and Thorndon Park South. The park covers hundreds of acres and was an ancient deer park that dates back to the 15th century. Within the park you will find a great variety of trees, grassland and three small lakes as well as a diverse range of habitats for the local wildlife. The Countryside Centre was constructed from timber salvaged from the 1987 storms, it is home to a permanent exhibition, a shop that sells gifts and refreshments. The park has lots to explore with its varying landscapes, and provides a number of lovely walks and cycle paths, you can take your own bike or hire one here, it is well laid out and sign posted. You can also horse ride here as long as you adhere to the areas marked with a blue arrow. Fishing is available, you are required to purchase a day ticket, you will find carp and bream here. Or maybe fly a kite and have a picnic, there is ample things to do. Children will love the Woodland Walks, along the way you will find a number of play areas, wooden constructions and teepees, or they can climb trees and build dens. Also if you are a fan of the Gruffalo you will love hunting for the characters and can purchase a map for 50p, great fun for all. Childerditch Pond is beautiful and tranquil and offers a place to get away from it all. King George's Playing Fields are located in Brentwood and are situated close to the town. The park extends to seventy three acres and comprises of woodland, formal gardens, childrens play area, paddling pools, playing fields, bowling greens, crazy golf, skate park, cafe and a special garden for the blind with an assortment of plants that stimulate their other senses. The paddling pools are only open during the school summer holidays depending on the weather, it is only accessible to those under twelve years of age, sessions last two hours and attract a small charge. Knole House is hidden away in a mediaeval deer-park amongst more than one thousand acres of parkland. It is an enormous estate that has a long and varied history dating back to 1456 when building commenced, eventually finishing in 1486 when it was commissioned by the Archbishop's of Canterbury and served as his palace, it was owned by royals and then passed to the Sackville family, by Queen Elizabeth I, and they have inhabited the house from 1603 through to the present. The house is splendid both inside and outside with numerous architectural delights, from the intricate plaster work, wooden panelling, fine paintings, antique furniture and much more. Located in the show rooms are works of art by Reynolds, Gainsborough and Van Dyck. The rooms that you can view as a visitor are astonishing and are resplendent with original furniture and fittings that are being carefully preserved for future generations. Close to the visitors entrance a video runs giving a synopsis of the history of Knole. There are volunteers in the house who are both friendly and knowledgeable and they will happily assist with any information you need. The house is open during the summer months from April through to November but, the grounds continue to be open throughout the year, along with the outdoor cafe. There is a charge for admission to the house. The grounds are extensive and offer lots of opportunity to explore, you can see the resident deer who roam the grounds, enjoy the beautiful gardens and the peace and tranquillity they offer. There are lots of walks to choose from that vary in distance. Throughout the year Knole House runs a series of events, exhibitions and activities to cater to all preferences, it is worth checking to see what is on. Knole House is of full of historical significance and gives a true insight into the grandeur of the past of this house and its inhabitants, it is an atmospheric and enthralling house that will leave you wanting to return.

They organise a series of events and exhibitions during the year including family fun days, night festivals and much more, it is worth checking these out. Sittingbourne Heritage Museum is located in East Street between the shops. It is a small and relatively new museum with the collection only starting in 1970 by a local Councillor, today it is home to a large collection of items, memorabilia and artefacts representing a bygone era. There is lots of information pertaining to the cultural, heritage and history of the town with lots of emphasis on the war and its industrial past. The collections are well laid out and displayed. The Museum is open each Saturday from April onwards from 11.00am to 3.00pm, there is no charge for admission but, they do accept donations to help in the upkeep of the museum. Group visits can be arranged outside of these hours, by pre arranged appointment. The museum shop opens every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from from 1.30pm to 4.00pm. Smallhythe Place is a charming historic house that was constructed in the early 16th century. It was the residence of the well known Victorian actress Ellen Terry, who bought it in 1899. The house serves as a memorial museum to her life having been established by her daughter Edith Craig in 1929 and is home to an intriguing personal and theatrical collection that accentuates her amazing career and unorthodox personal life. Within the grounds are a cottage garden and a delightful 17th century thatched Barn theatre that offers the chance to see a show with a regular programme of talks and shows, it is amazing to discover all the famous actors who performed here. They also host live productions from here, so worth looking out for these, it makes for a really special occasion. The main house is quintessentially an English cottage that has been well preserved and contains many of the original features and furniture and is pretty much as it was when she died. You will find a selection of her costumes, jewellery, loads of theatrical equipment, books, letters and lots more here. Outside are pretty gardens that include a pond. There is a nice cafe that serves light refreshments, freshly made and very good value for money. You can also buy garden produce whilst here. For younger visitors there is a quiz and also activity packs available. The property is open Wednesday through to Sunday and on Bank Holiday Mondays from March through to October, and there is a charge for entry. The staff are really nice friendly and approachable and with lots of knowledge on the house and its owner and have lots of stories to tell, making for an interesting visit, there is also a small booklet available. Smallhythe Place is a real gem, from its creaking and sloping floorboards to its intriguing history and lovely grounds, it has lots to offer and makes for a pleasant visit.
The Leighton House Museum claims to be the place where "east meets west." This captivating museum remains in honour of Frederick Leighton, the first Baron Leighton PRA. He only held his position for one day because of an untimely death. His Holland Park home was converted into the current Leighton House Museum.

All Saints Church is located in the centre of Kingston Upon Thames, this ancient church dates back to 1120 when construction commenced. Having undergone an extensive and sympathetic restoration it has been returned to its former glory and the results are outstanding. There is a long and interesting history associated with the church, it is thought that at least seven Saxon kings were crowned here. It is a beautiful church with many fine architectural features, excellent craftsmanship as well as lots of items of interest and historic importance, like a 14th century wall painting of St Blaise, the imposing 16th century tomb of Sir Anthony Benn, a 17th century marble font associated to Sir Christopher Wren, twelve bells, a carillon, a great west window of the 19th century and gorgeous ceilings complete with angels. There are visitor facilities and an excellent interactive guide in the Vestry. It is open daily to welcome visitors and those who want to pray or contemplate in the reflective and tranquil atmosphere. On Monday to Saturday mornings, there is coffee available in the church from 11.00 to 12.00am. There are regular weekday services, full details are on the website. Housed here is a Frobenius organ that is used by some of the world's best organists, as well as the choir who are highly regarded. In addition there are also evening and lunchtime concerts here as well as other events, again full details are on the website. All Saints Church is a beautiful historic church, it continues to serve the community in so many ways and should not be missed if you are in the area.

The museum is well laid out with lots of information, some of the costumes are just beautiful, simply stunning. As a school White Lodge is highly regarded internationally, it has taught and produced some of the most famous dancers and choreographers in the world. During a tour you will get to see many aspects of the school, its studios, the dining hall and boarding houses with the tour finishing in the museum. Tours can be booked online and only operate on certain days, mainly when closed for holidays, so best to check the website. The guides are friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable on the history of the school and house, they make the tour really enjoyable, it is just the right balance of history and insight into school life.
Ham House is located in a prime position on the banks of the River Thames in Richmond, it is a unique and exquisite 17th century house. The house is internationally acclaimed for its unrivalled collection of paintings, fine furniture and antique textiles which, mostly date back 400 years. There are some very really unique and exceptional items including a Chinese teapot that is thought to have been used by the Duchess of Lauderdale, one of the original creators and owners of the house. The house is said to be occupied by ghostly residents and is considered to be one of the most haunted houses in Britain. A tour of the house will allow you to see many areas of this beautiful house with its luxurious and sumptuous interior, it has many fine architectural features from its intricate plasterwork and beautiful wood panelling to its ornate ceilings it is simply stunning. The manicured gardens that encircle the house are equally beautiful and have been restored to their original 17th century glory, they include a productive kitchen garden and some fine statues. There is a choice of tours you can do both the house and garden or just the garden although, this will grant you access to the hands-on below stairs rooms, where you will see the process of bathing in the past. The tours guides are friendly, passionate and knowledgeable and bring the history and people of the house to life with their stories and descriptions. You can enjoy some delicious light lunches and drinks in the Orangery which is located in the gardens, it is bright, welcoming and comfy and makes for a lovely place to relax. Ham House is a simply stunning historic house and should not be missed so much to see and learn, thoroughly enjoyable.

Kew Palace was originally built as a private house in 1631 but, was used by King George III for a time as his country retreat, when he was descending into madness. It is an intimate palace with a long history and many fine architectural and historic features. It is not as ornate as other royal residences but does have some nice furniture and furnishings dating to the 17th century. A real treasure here are the Royal Kitchens they remain pretty much as they were over 200 years ago, making them rare and unusual and giving a true glimpse into a Georgian royal kitchen and the life of a kitchen worker at this time. There is lots of interesting information relayed about King George III and his life here through audio visual methods and the staff in period costume give an authentic feel to the palace. Although the interior is lovely the gardens are equally beautiful regardless of the time of year and are well worth a visit, the Prince of Wales conservatory is fantastic with many wonderful features and there are also other conservatories there with one dating from Victorian times. There are lots of pretty walks that you can enjoy, in the peace and tranquillity of these beautiful gardens. Queens Charlotte's Cottage is another interesting building here as inside you can see how the building was constructed and is an early example of a cottage orne, it was not intended as a residence but as somewhere to rest and have tea if walking in the garden. The guides throughout are great, really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions you might have. Kew Palace closes for the winter, it opens from April through to September although, the gardens are open all year round. There is a charge for entry to the gardens and a further charge to enter Kew Palace. Although not large or ornate it is still an interesting historic building with a certain charm and appeal and most certainly worth visiting.
