The site is equipped with all the latest equipment to cater to beginners, those that want to enhance their skills and serious wakeboarders. The staff here are excellent, very friendly, attentive, patient and professional and safety conscious so you can rest assured you are in safe hands here. They operate a range of classes and lessons where you will learn how to get on the board right through to big air tricks. It is not as easy as it looks but nevertheless, a truly enjoyable and fun experience, at the end you will be exhausted but have a real sense of achievement. All equipment can be hired here so it is not necessary to take anything along. The facilities are very good and the hot showers are a warm welcome at the end of your session. The minimum age to take part is 8 so it is an event that most of the family can get involved in. Barnards Farm Miniature Railway is run by a team of volunteers, it opened back in September 2010 and has been a continual source of fun and enjoyment for families. The track is a 7 1/4 inch gauge that takes steam, diesel/hydraulic, petrol and electric locomotives, it runs from the car park to Belevedere Station and back which covers 1.4km, you can see the sculptures in the garden as you travel along. The train operates from April through to December on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays as well as Saturdays in the summer months, it also opens for special open days at other times. A great place to visit especially if you have children that love Thomas the Tank Engine. Afterwards you can visit the gardens and enjoy some refreshments here in the welcoming and homely barn. The cost for the railway is very reasonable and once paid you have access to the trains all day. They do Santa Specials at Christmas time. The staff are lovely, really friendly and helpful. They are looking to extend the track so it will offer an even better experience. Barnards Farm Miniature Railway is a lovely day out for all the family, relaxing and fun, a real treat.

Prices are very reasonable and offer great value for money. They are open Tuesday to Sunday, and booking in advance is recommended, each session will last about an hour. Make sure to wear suitable footwear and clothing that you can easily move in. There is the Bunker or Canteen where you can get beverages and hot and cold snacks at reasonable prices. Rope Runners offers a fun and challenging activity that all the family can get involved in, the minimum age is six, you will be very popular if you take the children here on a day out.

Woodlands Manor Golf Club is a long established club, located in the valley and offers some spectacular views. It is an 18 hole par 69 mature parkland golf course. The course is well designed and maintained and in very good condition, the fairways play long, the greens are fast and the rough is thick . It is a testing course and will therefore, challenge all level of golf player, with its undulating fairways and alterations in elevation. There are beautiful views from some of the holes, the eigth hole in particular. You will find Woodlands to be a very welcoming and friendly club and the staff to be friendly, hospitable and most professional. The clubhouse is sociable and pleasant, there is a good food menu, the food is tasty and served promptly and offers excellent value for money. Other facilities here include a practise facility with grass driving range, short game area, chipping and putting greens and a practise bunker. Woodlands Manor Golf Club is a friendly club that is welcoming to all and offers a great golfing experience when you play here.
Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club has a long history with evidence of cricket dating back to 1734. Located in the centre of Sevenoaks, this beautiful club avails of fantastic views across the North Downs. The club is totally amateur and they are an accredited Focus Club and play Kent Premier League cricket here. The club is open to both members and non members and is an important aspect of the local community. The Oast House, has a traditional decor and has a lovely atmosphere, it is home to the cafe and bar and serves a good selection of beverages as well as a choice of hot and cold dishes, that are freshly cooked, well cooked and presented and offer good value for money. They are a friendly and welcoming golf club that is open to everyone. Sittingbourne Golf Club offers a good round of golf, in a welcoming club with well priced green fees.

It is an 18 hole parkland course designed by Alex Swan and is located in lovely surroundings, with a good variety of holes. This rolling course is tricky in some places and therefore offers challenges to all level of player, it also has a number of obstacles including water features, deep bunkers, ditches and trees. The course is well maintained, the greens are fast and smooth. The most memorable hole on the course is the sixteenth. The club is very welcoming to non members and the staff throughout are very friendly, helpful and professional. The facilities here are very good and the clubhouse is comfortable and welcoming and they have a good menu, the food is very good, well cooked and presented and represents real value for money. There is also a putting green and practice green here. Bentley Golf Club is a great club to play, friendly staff, beautiful course and really reasonable green fees, it ticks all the boxes, highly recommended.

Belfairs Wood, also called Hadleigh Great Wood, is a gorgeous expanse of natural beauty. The name was taken from a farm which used to operate on the site in the 1200s. The grounds currently encompass 84.7 hectares which includes a 50 hectare golf course. The park offers a tennis court, playground, basketball court, cricket field, football field, two bowling greens, riding stables, gardens and much more!
Noak Bridge Nature Reserve is located in Basildon Essex and consists of 20 acres of mixed grassland, scrub, woodland and small ponds. It is open every day and offers free entry to the general public and is wheelchair accessible. It provides a place of peace and tranquillity with two nature trails that you can follow and enjoy the scenery and sounds of the woodlands. There are also a number of rustic benches dotted around where you can sit and savour the peacefulness of the reserve. Noak Bridge Nature Reserve also serves as a natural habitat to a number of wildlife and insects, including butterflies, several species of dragonfly, whirligig bettles, frogs, newts, ducks, jays and woodpeckers . There are five permanent and two temporary ponds located here, that provide great growing conditions for a number of plants and shrubs as well as a home for grass snakes. The reserve is attended to by volunteers who do a great job in maintaining the area, they have installed bird nesting boxes and bat boxes in the quieter and more isolated areas of the reserve. If you are in the area take some time to visit Noak Bridge Nature Reserve it makes for a pleasant way to pass a few hours in lovely surroundings.

Milton Creek Country Park is the latest green space in Sittingbourne, Kent. It is an enclosed space that provides a peaceful escape from the hustle of town life. It is the result of a large investment and is formed from a former landfill site that extends to 128 acres. This space has created a safe environment with a large natural play area, a community events space in addition to a large arrangement of paths through different areas that include meadows, scrub and aquatic habitats, with three purpose built lakes. The whole area serves as a home to numerous animal species, insects, flora and fauna, it also serves as a link between the town and the creek. Along the creek path you can observe the historic wharves and consider the history of the area, a number of barges remain in the creek now serving as excellent habitats for wildlife, previously they would have been used to transport bricks, paper and London's waste around the region. This country park is in its infancy but already is well established and serves the community well with many interesting walks that are all pretty level. It is looked after by rangers who ensure the park is well maintained and can be enjoyed by its users who include walkers, joggers and cyclists. In addition they organise a number of events, workshops and activities that families and young children can get involved with, information is on the notice boards at the entrances. Milton Creek Country Park is a great place for a stroll and a picnic to observe and enjoy the local wildlife and appreciate all that the park offers.

Worth Park Gardens is currently undergoing some major renovations to bring it back to its former glory however, it is still a stunning park with many wonderful features including, formal gardens, parkland, woodland, play area, football pitch, tennis courts, lake, fishing and croquet green. It is a historic park that extends to more than 40 acres and was at one time a part of the Forest of Worth. During its heyday it was a prime example of a premier Victorian pleasure garden and landscape and royal hunting ground. The volunteers that run these gardens hold frequent workshops and garden visits, there is no entrance charge although a donation of £1 is suggested, if you want to find out more about the grounds and history. Worth Park Gardens offers children the ideal environment to run around and let off steam, as well as offering nice leisurely strolls and some nice views as you walk around and some local wildlife. When the works have been completed the gardens will be stunning that is not to say that they can still not be enjoyed.

Capstone Farm Country Park is a premier green space covering 114 hectares of previous farmland on the North Downs, it is well maintained and clean. The park is home to a mountain bike course, trim trail and a number of marked routes for cycling, running and walking, they are clearly marked with coloured arrows and well maintained. The visitor centre is staffed by rangers, you can get a wealth of information here about the park and its local wildlife. there are also interactive exhibits and they are happy to answer your questions, the rangers are really nice, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Capstone Farm Country Park offers a place of peace and tranquillity where you can escape from the sprawl of the busy towns, and enjoy the nature that resides here and offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy the wide open spaces, kids will love running about, hiding in the trees or making dens, a great family day out that is free.

The shop sells wines, cider and beer as well as cheeses, glasses and decanters, there some nice items here, and you can do some more tasting as well. A visit to Chapel Down provides for a great day out, the overall experience is fantastic, informative and interesting and really well organised and excellent value too at only £10 per person.

Thorndon Country Park is divided into Thorndon Park North, that is home to the Countryside Centre and Thorndon Park South. The park covers hundreds of acres and was an ancient deer park that dates back to the 15th century. Within the park you will find a great variety of trees, grassland and three small lakes as well as a diverse range of habitats for the local wildlife. The Countryside Centre was constructed from timber salvaged from the 1987 storms, it is home to a permanent exhibition, a shop that sells gifts and refreshments. The park has lots to explore with its varying landscapes, and provides a number of lovely walks and cycle paths, you can take your own bike or hire one here, it is well laid out and sign posted. You can also horse ride here as long as you adhere to the areas marked with a blue arrow. Fishing is available, you are required to purchase a day ticket, you will find carp and bream here. Or maybe fly a kite and have a picnic, there is ample things to do. Children will love the Woodland Walks, along the way you will find a number of play areas, wooden constructions and teepees, or they can climb trees and build dens. Also if you are a fan of the Gruffalo you will love hunting for the characters and can purchase a map for 50p, great fun for all. Childerditch Pond is beautiful and tranquil and offers a place to get away from it all. A number of events and activities are organised throughout the year so it is worth keeping an eye out for these. Thorndon Country Park offers a cheap great day out for all, take a picnic an spend the day here enjoying the beautiful scenery and tranquillity here, a must if you are in the area.

Tankerton Slopes is the area where the town of Tankerton meets Whitstable. It comprises of a large grass area that slopes down towards the beach, there are steps that lead down to the beach and there is a path that leads right along the coast. The slopes are home to renowned colourful beach huts, that are a popular photo opportunity. These slopes incline gently towards the sea, they also offer the perfect place to observe the world going by. There are great panoramic views of the wartime forts and Southend that is located on the opposite side of the Estuary. In the low tide there is a long stretch of pebbles known as the street that leads out to the sea and offers a temporary natural promenade. It provides entertainment for all seasons, in the winter it is a favourite spot for sledging and snow fun, in the summer it is at these slopes that everyone gathers to watch the regatta firework, during the Whitstable Regatta. It offers a nice place to walk and there is ample open space for children to run around, it is also popular with dog walkers. Croydon Airport Visitor Centre is a new community venture that is operated by volunteers and opened back in 2000. It is located in Airport House a lovely Art Deco building and opens on the first Sunday of every month during the year, it opens from 11.00am to 4.00pm, there is no charge for admission but, they do accept donations. It is a historic building being the birthplace of modern air traffic control. It is located in the world's oldest Air Traffic Control Tower, although the exhibition space is not very big it holds loads, there is a fantastic collection of interactive displays, exhibits and visual images documenting the history of Croydon airport as a World War I airfield through to being London's first international airport and its eventual closure in 1959. You do not have to book in advance for the guided tours. The volunteers are brilliant, so polite, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Cloud 9 Pantry is a lovely cafe that serves a nice selection of snacks and light lunches, prices are very good. They operate a number of Open Days throughout the year, so worth keeping an eye out for these. Croydon Airport Visitor Centre is a must if you like aviation history, even you aren't a aviation fan there is plenty to keep you entertained and interested, an enjoyable and pleasant attraction.

The Central Bandstand is an immediately recognisable and prominent feature along the coast here in Herne Bay. It can be dated back to 1924 and was further extend in 1934 with an art deco frontage and has underwent a careful restorative process in the late 1990's. Its purpose when it was initially erected was to host visiting military band concerts and for tea dances. The bandstand is well maintained and cared for and there are pretty flower beds surrounding it. It continues to offer an olde worlde seaside charm to the area. The museum is open every day except Mondays and there is a charge for entry although if you gift aid you can get unlimited entry for twelve months. There is a cafeteria where you get teas, coffees and light refreshments. They organise a series of events and exhibitions during the year including family fun days, night festivals and much more, it is worth checking these out. Royal Engineers Museum has so much to see and do, it is an informative and interesting museum, there is something to suit everyone, highly recommended.

Knole House is hidden away in a mediaeval deer-park amongst more than one thousand acres of parkland. It is an enormous estate that has a long and varied history dating back to 1456 when building commenced, eventually finishing in 1486 when it was commissioned by the Archbishop's of Canterbury and served as his palace, it was owned by royals and then passed to the Sackville family, by Queen Elizabeth I, and they have inhabited the house from 1603 through to the present. The house is splendid both inside and outside with numerous architectural delights, from the intricate plaster work, wooden panelling, fine paintings, antique furniture and much more. Located in the show rooms are works of art by Reynolds, Gainsborough and Van Dyck. The rooms that you can view as a visitor are astonishing and are resplendent with original furniture and fittings that are being carefully preserved for future generations. Close to the visitors entrance a video runs giving a synopsis of the history of Knole. There are volunteers in the house who are both friendly and knowledgeable and they will happily assist with any information you need. The house is open during the summer months from April through to November but, the grounds continue to be open throughout the year, along with the outdoor cafe. There is a charge for admission to the house. The grounds are extensive and offer lots of opportunity to explore, you can see the resident deer who roam the grounds, enjoy the beautiful gardens and the peace and tranquillity they offer. There are lots of walks to choose from that vary in distance. Throughout the year Knole House runs a series of events, exhibitions and activities to cater to all preferences, it is worth checking to see what is on. Knole House is of full of historical significance and gives a true insight into the grandeur of the past of this house and its inhabitants, it is an atmospheric and enthralling house that will leave you wanting to return.
Sittingbourne Heritage Museum is located in East Street between the shops. It is a small and relatively new museum with the collection only starting in 1970 by a local Councillor, today it is home to a large collection of items, memorabilia and artefacts representing a bygone era. There is lots of information pertaining to the cultural, heritage and history of the town with lots of emphasis on the war and its industrial past. The collections are well laid out and displayed. The Museum is open each Saturday from April onwards from 11.00am to 3.00pm, there is no charge for admission but, they do accept donations to help in the upkeep of the museum. Group visits can be arranged outside of these hours, by pre arranged appointment. The museum shop opens every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from from 1.30pm to 4.00pm. The volunteers are lovely, very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions on both the exhibits and local area. Sittingbourne Heritage Museum is a real gem of a local museum with lots of interesting information and facts waiting to be discovered, highly recommended.
Holy Trinity Church Sittingbourne, has a long history with a presence here in the town for more than six hundred years, it continues to offer a place of worship and reflection to the community. It enjoys a lovely location positioned right on the edge of the marshes. Sundays have regular worship services. They are a very friendly and welcoming congregation and extend a warm welcome to all visitors. This lovely church has many redeeming features, it is home to two organs which, is unusual, as well as claiming to have the thickest-walled Norman towers, that is home to six bells. The church is open to visitors every Friday afternoon and all day Saturday throughout the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the upkeep of the church and will happily show you around and answer any questions that you might have. Smallhythe Place is a charming historic house that was constructed in the early 16th century. It was the residence of the well known Victorian actress Ellen Terry, who bought it in 1899. The house serves as a memorial museum to her life having been established by her daughter Edith Craig in 1929 and is home to an intriguing personal and theatrical collection that accentuates her amazing career and unorthodox personal life. Within the grounds are a cottage garden and a delightful 17th century thatched Barn theatre that offers the chance to see a show with a regular programme of talks and shows, it is amazing to discover all the famous actors who performed here. They also host live productions from here, so worth looking out for these, it makes for a really special occasion. The main house is quintessentially an English cottage that has been well preserved and contains many of the original features and furniture and is pretty much as it was when she died. You will find a selection of her costumes, jewellery, loads of theatrical equipment, books, letters and lots more here. Outside are pretty gardens that include a pond. There is a nice cafe that serves light refreshments, freshly made and very good value for money. You can also buy garden produce whilst here. For younger visitors there is a quiz and also activity packs available. The property is open Wednesday through to Sunday and on Bank Holiday Mondays from March through to October, and there is a charge for entry. The staff are really nice friendly and approachable and with lots of knowledge on the house and its owner and have lots of stories to tell, making for an interesting visit, there is also a small booklet available. Smallhythe Place is a real gem, from its creaking and sloping floorboards to its intriguing history and lovely grounds, it has lots to offer and makes for a pleasant visit.
