Sea Palling, Waxham, Happisburgh and Mundesley are also easily accessible or why not enjoy exploring the rest of the beautiful North Norfolk coast. With over 125 miles of navigable rivers, the Broads are ideal for a day out in a canoe or day boat, both of which are for hire in nearby Stalham or Wroxham. Weavers Way is on the doorstep and this old railway is now a bridleway and footpath, providing 61 miles of opportunities to see the tranquil countryside and wildlife by foot, bike or horse riding. Attractions in the area include the North Norfolk Steam Railway, a short drive away to Sherringham or Holt, catch a crab or two off the pier at Cromer, Holkham National Nature Reserve for the seal colonies and other marine wildlife, zoos, National Trust (NT) houses (including Sandringham). For those that like to while away their time fishing, there are two options available. The first is the Silverfish Lake at the rear of the property which is open all year round from daybreak to dusk and is free to use for those staying at the cottage. It is a family friendly lake managed for recreational fishing and spotting birds and wildlife (otters, kingfishers, butterlies and more). The paths around Silverfish Lake are mown weekly between spring and autumn. Next door is the superb St George’s Fishery which is available for up to 2 visitors to the cottage, free of charge. The fishery is a general specimen lake with roach, rudd, perch, bream, trench and carp. It is managed with the more serious angler in mind. Wall Brown enjoys a rural and peaceful setting. It is furnished in traditional style with co-ordinated prints and is constructed to very good specifications. Shop 2½ miles and pub serving food ½ mile.
