This group of three holiday properties (refs 23249, 29517 and 29518) occupy a great central touring position that is close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, Mawddach trail and cycle path; once on the trail, a public footpath runs alongside all the way to the fantastic sandy beach, ideal for families wanting to be near the sea. Walk the other direction on the trail, and go over the famous wooden railway bridge across the estuary to Barmouth. Situated on the owners’ working farm, guests to Bwlchgwyn Farm have the added attraction of horseriding on site - you can pony trek on the beach or have lessons. This area is great for bird watching, fishing and mountain biking, with easy access to the mountain bike centre at Coed Y Brenin, and Go Ape. It is also well-placed for visiting Cader Idris and the Creggenan Lakes. All areas of Cardigan Bay, including Tywyn, Fairbourne, Dolgellau and Barmouth, are easy to reach from this midway point; whilst some resorts offer sandy beaches, others have an array of shops, many full of typical Welsh crafts and gifts. A little further afield, the towns and mountain ranges of Snowdonia have plenty to offer visitors of all ages. The Fairbourne/Highland steam railways, slate mines, Portmeirion Italianate village, Mount Snowdon and numerous castles and golf courses (nearest 2 miles) are to be found within the Snowdonia National Park. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
