The historic sailing town of Yarmouth, set in the estuary of the River Yar, is a short drive, and Colwell, Totland and the popular sandy beach at Compton are a 5-minute drive away. As well as excellent walks directly from the house, other attractions to discover include The Needles Park, one of the most popular attractions on the island, with chairlift, boat rides, coloured sands, lighthouse, amusements and glass-making. Also within easy driving distance and of historic interest are Blackgang Chine, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Calbourne Water Mill, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, museums and various NT homes/gardens. For family days out, discover traditional pottery making, wildlife centres, Isle of Wight Zoo, Isle of Wight Pearl and both Cowes and Yarmouth harbours.
