This detached, converted log store is adjacent to the owner’s home and situated in a peaceful, village location. It has been lovingly restored with beams and still has the original high ceiling, but now with contemporary décor and underfloor heating. It provides an excellent holiday base from which to discover the unspoilt countryside, with a plethora of outdoor activities and interesting places to explore. Walkers are especially well-catered for, with a footpath to the quaint medieval village of Axbridge, and the West Mendip Way. The Somerset Wetlands offer superb bird watching facilities for nature lovers, along with the nearby Willow Craft Centre. For the more adventurous, there is always potholing on the Mendips or caving in the gorge. During October/November, the surrounding market towns host the famous West Country Carnivals. Cheddar, world famous for its gorge, caves and cheese, is only 10 minutes away. Farmers’ markets are held in both Cheddar and Axbridge on alternate Saturdays, or for a larger, French-style market, there is always the delightful city of Wells, England’s smallest cathedral city. Wookey Hole Caves and paper mill on the outskirts of Wells are well worth a visit, as is Clarks Village factory outlet complex in Street for the shopaholics. All three destinations are within a 30-minute radius. There is also a choice of three golf courses in the immediate area. A little further afield is the World Heritage city of Bath, Yeovilton Air Museum and the Bath and West Showground, all well within an hour’s drive. The coastal resorts of Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-Super-Mare and Clevedon are also within an easy drive. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with beams. Kitchen. 1 double (5ft) bedroom. Shower room with toilet.

Oil underfloor CH, Electricity and bed linen included. Freeview TV. Electric Cooker. Microwave. Access to owner’s Washing Machine. Freezer. Sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (1 car). Shared tennis court on request. Welcome pack. No smoking. Friday to Friday.
