Nearby, Bude’s sandy beaches are great for families and surfers, and the thriving market town of Bideford (10 miles) boasts the Atlantic Village shopping mall and boat trips to Lundy Island. At Barnstaple, visitors can hire cycles for exploring the Tarka Trail, and the magnificent beaches at Woolacombe Bay, Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay are within easy reach. Glorious days out can be enjoyed in the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor, the Eden Project is 1.5 hours’ drive and the coastal path offers great walking with stunning views of Atlantic rollers at Hartland Point.
