Set above the shore and looking back to the harbour village of Helmsdale, this converted holiday home is very spacious and has it all, including a bar area in the living room. Very private with access to the adjacent rocky beaches below and with panoramic sea views complemented by a large decking area for al fresco dining. Sit in bed and watch the fantastic array of sea birds, dolphins and seals offshore. Carefully chosen marine colours enhance the decor and the large stone open fireplace adds to the comfortable ambience. Fresh fish can be purchased from the boats which still land in the harbour, but should guests wish to dine out, there are several good restaurants locally and it is just ashort walk to the village pub. Helmsdale has shops which provide local produce and fulfil most needs, with great golf and fishing nearby. Try a day trip to Orkney, go shopping in the lovely town of Dornoch, visit the Castle of Mey, climb Ben Hope, take a walk in the Geopark in nearby Assynt National Park or go whale watching on a local boat; just a few of the opportunities available from Helmsdale. With many beautiful sandy beaches on the doorstep, guests are spoilt for choice. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Carn Liath - 12.4 Miles (19.8 KM)
The name of this Scottish Broch (building) means "The Grey Cairn" and has walls that still stand 12 feet high in places. The entrance passage and lintled doorway are well preserved. An excavation in 1986 found a bronze age burial on the site, complete with grave goods.
