Nestled down a quiet country lane on the owner’s working farm, The Old Barn is light and airy, and beautifully placed to provide the perfect setting from which to explore all that the area has to offer. The bustling market town of Reepham offering a range of shops and eateries is close by, as is one of Norfolk’s top visitor attractions, The Blickling Estate, with its splendid hall, which was once the home of the Boleyn family. With beaches in nearly all directions, you will be spoilt for choice. Cromer boasts a glorious sandy beach, a famous promenade and pier, which still offers a traditional end of pier show and has a host of cafés, and the market town of Sheringham with its shingle beach and over 1000 acres of parkland boasts 3 species of deer and numerous walks. Blakeney, with its picturesque quay, offers trips out to see the seals in the natural habitat, and Wells-next-the-Sea has a narrow gauge railway and a quaint mix of artisan and traditional seaside shops. For all the fun of the fair, plan a day out to Great Yarmouth, with its golden mile of seafront attractions and Pleasure Beach. Or, head to Hunstanton, with its Sealife Centre and a beach that really does seem to go on forever. If something more natural has more appeal, don’t miss out on spending a day or two exploring the Norfolk Broads where you can join an organised boat trip or even skipper your own launch as you explore the waterways, discovering the wildlife. The medieval city of Norwich is also well worth visiting and has a splendid Norman castle, numerous museums, shops and restaurants to explore. With all this on offer plus numerous stately homes and National Trust properties, fabulous bird watching opportunities at RSPB sites, gentle, scenic walks and cycling routes including Marriotts Way, and great places to eat, many of which use fresh, seasonal, local produce and you can see why you will probably need to return to The Old Barn again to make sure that you see everything that’s on offer. Shops and pub 1 mile.
