These detached holiday cottages are perfect for any occasion and are surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Somerset/Devon border. The Mill House (ref EXP) has been sympathetically renovated to create an amazing internal space and high vaulted ceilings. It certainly carries the words "wow factor". The property sits on a well renowned private exclusive country estate in Somerset and boasts over 3 acres of formal and informal gardens hidden away yet easily accessible to both local guests and those from further a field and is located only 2 hours from London. The Mill House is popular with birthdays, anniversary, corporate celebrations as well as intimate receptions and is finished to a good standard, boasting private accommodation for 10-13 guests. The Lake House (ref EXN) is a unique, 13th-century thatched barn situated close to the owner’s home. This holiday property offers charm and a relaxing atmosphere, as well as a lake with its own seating area, ideal for al fresco dining. The owner can provide a personal chef for a sit down dinner (for up to 12 guests) or a luxury/social buffet-style celebration, perfect for a private birthday, anniversary or just for friends who want to get together. In addition, a sommelier can also be provided to create a special escape experience. As an extra treat, let the full time in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal (on prior request and subject to an additional cost). Both properties offer special touches, with quality toiletries, fluffy towels and bathrobes in each room, along with chic furnishings and cool lighting. Simply charming in every aspect and a place where guests can relax, complete with a full plasma TV, music and Wi-Fi package for those still wishing to keep in touch with the outside world. Sumptuous teak and leather dominate this airy and cool venue. There is an extremely wide range of local attractions for those staying for longer with time to explore, including clay pigeon shooting, archery, quad biking, fishing, horse riding and game shoot, to name a few. Discover places to see and things to do whilst in Somerset. The Blackdown Hills are on the doorstep and have been protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1991. Steep ridges, high plateaux, valleys and springs create a charming mosaic of countryside, dotted with farms, villages and ancient features. Visit Dunster and see the historic castle and then stop for a cream tea in the medieval village. Take a trip on the steam railway, taking in wonderful seaside locations such as Dunster, Blue Anchor and Minehead. Porlock and Porlock Weir have so much to offer, from quaint shops to pubs and cafés overlooking the sea. There is also Glastonbury Tor and Bishop’s Palace, the historic village of Montacute, the market town of Castle Gary and the National Trust’s Stourhead House, Lytes Cary Manor and Tintinhull Garden. Finally, the amazing Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis is only a 35-minute drive away. A week will fly by at this unique hideaway! Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.
