Located just 1½ miles from the village of Long Melford, famous for its numerous antique shops, it makes an ideal base from which to explore the quaint villages and market towns of Suffolk, including Lavenham, Clare and Bury St Edmunds. The nearby market town of Sudbury (3 miles), one-time home of the artist Thomas Gainsborough, has a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants, a theatre and good rail links to London and Colchester. The property is also convenient for Newmarket, a day at the races and Cambridge, the city famous for its colleges, museums, botanic gardens and art galleries, you can also try your hand at punting on the River Cam. The Granary is ideally located to explore nearby Constable Country or head slightly further afield to the Suffolk Heritage Coast, where you will find the seaside gems of Southwold and Aldeburgh.
