Set on the road between Battle and Hastings, this pretty, mid–terraced cottage offers something for all seasons, and has a welcoming open fire in the living room. The kitchen opens on to a small pebbled garden with a delightful summerhouse, an ideal place where you can read the paper whilst enjoying a leisurely breakfast or an afternoon snooze! Telham Cottage is an ideal base from which to tour the 1066 countryside. Explore the lovely market town of Battle and visit the famous English Heritage 1066 Battle of Hastings site, see the abbey and walk the battlefield where the course of English history was changed forever. Visit Yesterday’s World or follow the 1066 country walk from Pevensey via the battle site to Rye. The Cinque Port Town of Hastings has the ruins of the first castle built in England after William’s invasion up on the West Hill. Watch the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe land its catch. Visit the local vineyards – Carr Taylor, a family-run estate producing fine English wines, or Sedlescombe, England’s oldest organic vineyard. Take a trip on the Kent and Sussex Railway, a rural light steam railway, from Tenterden - the ‘Jewel in the Weald’ - along 10½ miles of beautiful countryside by the Rother Valley to the fairy tale, moated Bodiam Castle. Battle’s train station is easily accessible and provides good links to London and further sightseeing opportunities. Golf and riding available locally. Beach 5 miles.
