This delightful end-of-row period holiday property, formerly a traditional lifeguard’s cottage, stands peacefully in an enviable location overlooking the serene mill pond. Emsworth, just a 2-minute walk, is an historic home town nestled at the top of the western inlet of Chichester Harbour, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It remains a fishing port, although yachts and other pleasure craft now outnumber the traditional fishing boats. This charming town is a haven for nature lovers, sailors, artists and walkers, and Swan Cottage, which was built in the 1890s, overlooks one of two tidal millponds. Historically, Emsworth is connected with oyster fishing, flour milling and boat building. Its charming streets are lined with a variety of traditional architecture with a rich selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Farmers and local producers regularly set up their market stalls near the town square. The focal point is the spectacular harbour view with quayside walks, or longer walks along the Solent Way, and a jetty for boat trips or crabbing in the summer. Within easy reach are Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, extensive shopping, historic ships and ferry trips to the Isle of Wight, and Chichester with cathedral, Fontwell and Goodwood races. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

Living room with open fire and double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only). Dining room/kitchen with natural stone floors. Steep stairs to first floor: Double bedroom with 6ft bed. Single bedroom. Shower room with toilet. Steep stairs to second floor: Double bedroom.
