Surf Cottage is an end terrace, traditional fisherman’s cottage which is centrally located, and offers a perfect holiday base for the beach and cosmopolitan town of Ventnor, just a 2-minute walk away. The property has a wealth of features, including a range cooker in the contemporary kitchen, a freestanding bath in the en-suite bathroom, a separate shower room with toilet and a private enclosed courtyard. Ventnor’s popular shingle and sand beach, where freshly caught fish of the day can be purchased at the marina, is about a 2-minute walk down hill. Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, the Needles and Alum Bay are all nearby. Attractions within easy reach include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Isle, a donkey sanctuary and Calbourne Water Mill, which has a 17th-century working watermill. Osborne House and Gardens (Queen Victoria’s holiday residence), and Carisbrooke Castle are also worth a visit. The sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes, and the popular resorts of Shanklin and Sandown are also close by. The island can be explored from the open-top buses that stop regularly at various collection points. Beach 700 yards. Shop and restaurant 200 yards, pub 100 yards.
