Situated in idyllic Berrynarbor – several times winner of ‘Best Kept Village’, this 18th-century farmhouse offers comfortable holiday accommodation within a glorious plantsman’s garden. The village provides everything from a quaint pub to a 13th-century church, tea room and village post office/shop. Little has changed in this farming area which provides easy access to the golden, sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Saunton, and the rugged beauty of Exmoor and its Heritage Coastline.
Nearby Combe Martin, ‘gateway to the Exmoor National Park’, is famous for its sandy coves and majestic headlands and offers a choice of shops, cafés and one of Devon’s oldest inns. The Victorian resort of Ilfracombe has an old world charm with beaches reached by tunnels through the rocks, smugglers’ alleys, a bustling fishing harbour offering boat trips and a lively cultural scene at the Landmark theatre. The area boasts its own castle, with award-winning attractions ideal for a family day out, a picturesque yacht harbour and walks through the beautiful Sterridge Valley.
Just a little further afield is the market town of Barnstaple with a daily pannier market, good shops, restaurants, museum, cinema and theatre. From Barnstaple visitors can follow the Tarka Trail which runs through some of the most sparsley populated areas in Devon. For those wishing an alternative method of transport, then bikes are available to hire and there are designated cycle trails for some of the trail. Croyde Bay is the perfect place for surfing and swimming, while Saunton has championship golf. Tennis, riding, quad biking and water sports all available locally. Shop ½ mile.
