Residing on the outskirts of Hastings, one of the five Cinque Ports, and enjoying an elevated position, is this stylish, terraced holiday home. From the first floor bedroom window at the rear of the property, you can see the sea in the distance and on a good day Beachy Head. Ideally placed for heading into the historical Old Town of Hastings, just a 10-minute drive, or why not catch the bus which stops a couple of minutes away. The Old Town, with its half-timbered buildings and narrow passageways known as ’twittens’, offers restaurants, cafés and antique shops to browse. Visit the Shipwreck Museum and Blue Reef Aquarium, or see the iconic, black net huts and the caves deep in the West Hill, and discover Hastings’ smuggling past. In the other direction, don’t miss Battle Abbey, built by William the Conqueror as a penance, ordered by the Pope as a result of the battle fought between William Duke of Normandy and the Saxon King Harold, England’s would be rulers, on the 14th October 1066. Explore the golden sand dunes at Camber or the cobbled market town of Rye, featured in the television adaptation of E.F. Benson’s 1930s comedy drama, Mapp and Lucia. When you return to the property, soak up the last rays of sunshine on the decked terrace in your south-westerly facing garden, where you can plan another exciting day’s activities. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
