Set on the bank of the River Trent with a first floor living room enjoying views along the river, this detached property, aptly named Riverbank Cottage, is ideal for those looking for a peaceful holiday retreat or a base from which to explore this historic area. Benefiting from a ground floor bedroom and shower room and with a snug area off the kitchen, as well as the first floor living room there is space for all to enjoy. There are many good walks and cycle routes around with golf courses only a short drive away. Lincoln Cathedral is less than an hour’s drive away and Scunthorpe, Beverley, York and Hull are within an hour’s drive. Epworth, 9 miles, is the birth place of John Wesley and of Methodism. The whole area is known as The Isle of Axholme having been drained by the Dutch some 300 years ago. There are many interesting things to visit within a 20-mile radius, such as the famous Haxey Hood (held in January), The Vulcan Experience, a wealth of wildlife and bird reserves, the fantastic Yorkshire Wildlife Park and so much more. There are good pubs in the area for some refreshment after a long walk and a pleasant south-facing patio area to one side of the cottage. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
