These adjoining stone-built properties sit in a prominent position in in the tiny hamlet of Llangower on the south side of Llyn Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales. With views towards the lake, the shoreline is only about 200 yards away, they provide an enchanting holiday location for those looking for a relaxing stay or ample opportunities for the more energetic. The Grade II Georgian listed Rector’s House (ref OP7) was home to the rector of the ancient chapel at Llangower which was built in the 13th-century but modernised at about the same time as the rectory was built. Retaining its character, the house catches the sun from all directions, with glimpses of the lake, valley and mountains. Rectory Cottage (ref IWA) has a romantic feel with its wood-burning stove and views. On the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park, this is an ideal place for walking, sailng or just lazing. The well-known market town of Bala is a short drive away (3 miles) where most facilities are available including serveral good pubs and restaurants, a supermarket, butcher, bakers, post office, chemist, curiosity and gift shops. The local leisure centre provides swimming and fitness facilities and there is a small ten-pin bowling alley nearby and single-screen cinema in the town. The coast at Barmouth is 40-minute drive, and the towns of Dolgellau and Portmadoc, both a 25-minute trip away, provide interest for all the family. Shop and pub 3 miles.

This elegant, Georgian house has a light, homely feel about it and makes a comfortable retreat, whether for a main holiday or a relaxing short break. All the main rooms have two windows, affording glimpses of the lake at the front, the valley each side and mountains at the back. It is elegantly furnished with many valuable paintings and antiques. Much attention has been paid to the detail of the restoration of the house, so as to preserve the property’s features whilst providing the comforts of modern-day living. Approached over a flat, slightly inclined tarmac drive, the house is decorated and furnished to a good standard, with many valuable paintings and antiques. The front and rear door are without steps.
