Situated on the banks of the East Lyn River, Peacock Cottage is a delightful retreat from the outside world. Accessed via a foot bridge, this tastefully furnished, semi-detached holiday cottage will suit walkers and those who appreciate the splendour of Exmoor and the surrounding countryside. The cottage is located in the charming hamlet of Rockford, which also has a pub within walking distance. The National Trust land which surrounds the cottage has plenty of footpaths to explore. A little further afield are the Victorian coastal towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. These delightful towns have a good range of amenities, as well as the famous cliff railway. There are numerous attractions within easy reach of the cottage, including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe, guests will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer, including Tarr Steps, the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. A day out into west Somerset is recommended, with attractions including Porlock Weir, Dunster with its castle (NT) and the seaside town of Minehead, home to the West Somerset Stream Railway. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes, and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Great Torrington. Game fishing on the east and West Lyn Rivers can be arranged locally.
