This cosy semi-detached holiday home is just the ticket for exploring this beautiful and relatively undiscovered corner of Scotland. It is so accessible to all the many delightful activities on offer here. The delightful coastal villages of Kippford and Rockcliffe are just a short drive away and the beautiful sandy beach at Sandyhills is just another lovely place to explore and while away the time. The Galloway Forest Park is the largest in the UK and offers something for everyone, stretching from seashore to mountain summits. The area offers five of the world renowned 7Stanes sites offering the best in mountain biking. If you think the forest is all about trees then think again! It is about shimmering lochs, challenging mountains and amazing wildlife. The park was awarded the UK’s first Dark Sky Park status and to see the stars in this magical place is one of the wonders of the world! There are over 200 miles of coastline from rugged cliff-tops to sandy beaches shared with a few oyster catchers. If you are lucky you may spot dolphins, minke whales and otters. The lovely little harbour town of Kirkcudbright is known as the Artist’s Town and when you visit the historic high street with its brightly painted houses and secret pends and wynds it is easy to see where the inspiration came from. Whatever time of year you choose to visit, there is always something happening from the highly acclaimed Spring Fling, colourful jazz festivals, the Kirkcudbright Tattoo and the Wickerman Festival.
