An ideal touring base located in a rural area

An impressive converted historic mill, owned by the princes of Wales for many centuries, built on a Roman road at the junction of the River Dee and Meloch Stream, partly dating back to the 14th-century. Situated in the beautiful Vale of Eden near to Bala town and lake, famous for its rare species of pre-historic fish only found in one other lake in the world. Bala Lake is also a centre for both watersports and bird life. This semi-detached property has two galleries with oak timbers in abundance and within this, a great fireplace stands at the centre, separating the living room and dining room. Being in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, Melin Meloch gives guests an ideal holiday base from which to explore the beautiful Welsh coastline and amazing mountains, including the Berwyns, Cader Idris and Snowdon. The popular tourist resorts of Llangollen with its horse drawn barges, motor museum, steam train, watersports, festivals, Betws-Y-Coed and Swallow Falls are all close by. White water rafting, a high ropes course and paintballing are all available locally. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¼ miles.
