Located on the edge of the village of Bampton, these delightful holiday cottages offer a peaceful retreat in the heart of a conservation area. They are part of a former grain mill that is now a listed building and the old mill leat still passes the cottages on its way to the River Batherm. Mill Cottage is a character dwelling, renovated in keeping with its 17th century origins, and is part of the owners listed home. Leat Cottage is a detached barn conversion with the lounge on the upper floor taking advantage of the views. Guests have shared use of the grounds with the opportunity to fish from the riverbank. Bampton offers good village amenities and is one of the gateways to Exmoor National Park with many activities, outdoor pursuits and historical interests. The West Somerset and North Devon coastlines are an easy drive, as is access to the larger towns of Tiverton, Taunton and Exeter. Nearby are a number of NT properties, and within 5 miles, Wimbleball Lake offers water sport activities. Shops and pubs 100 yards. Refs 14190 and 16952 can be booked together to accommodate 8 guests.
