Peacefully set amid the rolling countryside of a 200-acre sheep farm, this collection of cottages have been converted from the old farm stables, bakery and dairy, have their own individual character and retain many of their original features. The tranquil location makes this the perfect place to relax and unwind while the many foot paths and cycle routes are an excellent way to enjoy the surrounding countryside and views. Situated on the Durham/ Northumberland border, Derwent Grange is ideally located for exploring the many attractions both counties have to offer. The historic city of Durham, with its magnificent cathedral and river boat trips and the market town of Barnard Castle with its 12th century castle; and Medieval Raby Castle are all just a short drive away. The award winning Beamish Open Air Museum, is just 13 miles away and is well worth a visit. Newcastle and Gateshead offer an array of museums and art galleries along with excellent shopping and are only 18 miles away. The breathtaking scenery of the Northumberland National Park is within an half an hours’ drive as is Hadrians Wall. A little further a field are Alnwick Castle and Gardens while the castles and gloriously unspoilt coastline of Northumberland are around an hours’ drive. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.
