Enjoying a spectacular setting on the banks of the River Dee (fishing not permitted), this unique, converted water mill retains many atmospheric original working parts. Surrounded by natural woodland, it boasts spiral staircases and a charming (partly enclosed) balcony overlooking the river and weir. Ideal for large families and group get-togethers, situated in the enchanting hamlet of Erbistock, perfectly placed for peace. The holiday property provides an ideal touring base for the Vale of Llangollen and beyond, with plenty of places to see and things do for all the family. The city of Chester is within 30 minutes drive, watch the canal boats at Ruabon, visit the woodland village of Chirk with its mountainous landscape or the many other picturesque villages nearby. Spend a day in the charming town of Llangollen, a small town steeped in myth and legend. The town is perhaps better known for hosting the International Music Eisteddfod in the summer, where thousands of visitors flock every July, but even if visiting out of season there is no shortage of things to do. Visit the home of the ’Ladies of Llangollen’, Plas Newydd, one of Wales’ famous tourist attractions. Children can experience life as a Victorian and be subjected to a lesson by Victorian schoolmasters at ’The Victorian School and Museum’. Travel on part of the Llangollen Steam Railway, passing scenes of the River Dee along the way, wander around the shops or enjoy riverside walks. Inn 500 yards.
