Surrounded by well-tended gardens, complete with a magnificent sculpture of an eagle, this is one of the finest lodges on a small park in the rural village of Wilberfoss. The accommodation is spacious with an open-plan, light and airy living area and French doors leading to the decking, ideal for relaxing with morning coffee or a nightcap as the sun descends. Close by, is the delightful market town of Pocklington, five miles, with an interesting mix of shops, restaurants, pubs and local attractions, including Burnby Hall Gardens, Yorkshire Air Museum and the Yorkshire Museum of Farming.

From the park and ride, six miles, visitors can enjoy hassle free access into the vibrant city of York, which appeals to all ages at any time of the year. Enjoy the exquisite architecture, the iconic Minster and the quirky shops along the maze of cobbled streets. Take a river boat trip, walk the medieval walls, join a ghost tour or step back in time at the Jorvik Viking Centre and the Castle Museum.

Days out can be spent exploring the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds which inspired the famous Hockney paintings, or drive out to the coast with the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey, all worth exploring. Visit stately homes at Castle Howard, Burton Agnes and Sewerby Hall, or take the steam train from Pickering to Whitby through the stunning North York Moors.
