Set in a secluded location surrounded by mature woodland, and part of a 100-acre estate, they make the perfect romantic holiday hideaway. Peniarth Uchaf (ref OD6) is a Grade II listed country house which was built of stone in the 18th century. It has verandahs on two sides, spacious well-proportioned rooms, plasterwork ceilings and a wealth of period features, furniture and paintings. It has a coach house and walled garden in its extensive grounds. Gamekeepers Cottage (ref OA3) and Cormorant Cottage (ref OPB) are 200-year old, cosy, detached cottages which offer peace and tranquillity. A 15-minute drive leads to the Victorian seaside town of Tywyn with its promenade and mile-long stretch of sandy beach, ideal for bathing. The town itself is surrounded by the Tarren Hills, and plays host to the 7-mile long Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Steam Railway that runs between Tywyn Wharf and Nant Gwernol. With all areas of the Snowdonia National Park being easily accessible from the property, guests will never be short of places to visit. Some of the more local visitor attractions include the Centre for Alternative Technology, King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Animalarium, Coed-y-Brenin Forest and Portmeirion Italianate village. The seaside town of Aberdovey with its harbour, is 11 miles away. Shop and pub 4 miles.
