Adjoining another property, this former chapel simply oozes character – indeed the original pulpit and hymn board are still in the living area, but the comfortable leather sofas bring this property right up to date. The stunning living/dining area is equipped with a flatscreen TV, bar billiards, board games, a well-stocked library and a dining table to seat twelve. Situated in the quiet village of Llwyngwril on the shores of Cardigan Bay, this holiday property is a short walk from the lovely beach where dolphins and seals may sometimes be seen, and has the village pub less than a minute’s walk away. There are some excellent walks close to the property, and a short drive away is Cader Idris – at 2,927ft one of the highest peaks in southern Snowdonia. For those wanting a family day out, this property is well placed for visiting the historic Talyllyn Railway at nearby Tywyn, travelling by steam train to visit the cascading waterfalls at Dolgoch or Nant Gwernol, or just going for a walk in the hills; and just a few miles away is Bird Rock, named because of the large numbers of cormorants that nest there. Nearby is the seaside resort of Barmouth, with its long sandy beach, fairground and stunning backdrop of Dinas Oleu – the first piece of land ever donated to the National Trust. For those wanting good views of the coast, the Cambrian Coast railway line offers stunning views from the train along the line to Porthmadog and Pwllheli. Situated in the Snowdonia National Park, this property makes an excellent base for exploring all of southern Snowdonia, including Dolgellau the former county town of Meirionnydd, Corris with its craft centre and Centre for Alternative Technology, Machynlleth with its collection of quirky shops, Harlech with its magnificent Edward I castle, and Bala, home to a wide variety of watersports. Horse riding can also be found nearby. Shop 15 yards, pub 50 yards.
