Situated in the little village of Sporle, with its CAMRA real ale pub and offering a cosy cottage welcome, Cobbler’s provides a comfortable holiday base for those looking to mix rural relaxation with days out exploring the region. Visit the medieval city of Norwich, with its impressive Norman castle, numerous museums and theatres, guided walking trips, boat trips on the river and lots of places to shop and eat, it is a great place to start. Do make time for the often overlooked Hanseatic town of King’s Lynn, which was one of England’s most important ports from as early as the 12th century and its maritime past is still very much in evidence today. Fine old merchants’ houses stretch down to the river between cobbled lanes and the elegant custom house overlooks the harbour. Closer to home, you will find the village of Castle Acre, where there is much to see, including the castle ruins and the Cluniac Priory. In fact, history abounds as there are several National Trust properties and stately homes to explore too, including Holkham Hall, The Sandringham Estate and The Blickling Estate. You must make time to visit the coast, which is littered with seaside towns, villages and beautiful beaches, there are too many to mention but, for contrast, do try Hunstanton for all the fun of the fair and the quaint quay and Wells-next-the-Sea. Venture to The Broads where you can join a boat trip or hire a day launch of your own and explore the famous Norfolk waterways. With ample bird watching opportunities, great walks and cycle routes and lots of great places to eat, your holiday at Cobbler’s can be as busy or as restful as you please. Beach 20 miles. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.
