Set in a beautiful rural location, within walking distance of a local café with great homemade food, this detached Scandinavian style lodge sits a mere 2 miles from Llanidloes, a quaint and characterful town nestling at the foothills of the Cambrian mountains. The town has a long history and has many attractive old buildings, most notably a lovely timber framed market hall in the centre, which dates from the early 17th century and houses a small exhibition on its history. There is also a good museum of local history housed in the grand Town Hall. The Minerva Arts centre promotes traditional Welsh textile arts such as quilting. Llanidloes is also known for its excellent traditional pubs, of which there are a surprising number. This might account for the renowned friendliness of the locals, and also the popularity of its entertaining annual fancy dress event and street carnival, both taking place in July. Many visitors come as part of a tour of the beautiful surrounding countryside, with great walking and wildlife watching opportunities. Particular highlights are the Llyn Clywedog reservoir and dam, and Hafren Forest, the source of the River Severn and the start of the Severn Way long distance footpath. Nearby Elan Valley, Gregynog Hall, Powys Castle and the Welshpool to Lanfair steam railway prove popular with tourists. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 2 double bedrooms (one 5ft). Shower room with toilet (also accessed from 5ft double bedroom).
