Surrounded by open farming country, yet 2 miles from York (with regular bus service), this magnificent holiday property has been built to very exacting standards. Featuring original hand clamped bricks, and polished oak floors, it is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. The kitchen has slate floors and granite work surfaces with built-in oven and microwave. South-facing, and standing detached, it is set in a former farmyard in the heart of the village. Approached by a private drive, it looks across to historic brick barns on two sides.
Burrland House is very well situated for exploring the wide and varied attractions of this part of Yorkshire. It is within reach of two national parks - the Yorkshire Dales NP and the North Yorkshire Moors NP - each with characteristic villages, beautiful valleys, high moorland and endless opportunities for exploring on foot or by car. The haunting landscapes of Brontë fame are easily accessible. While beyond the moors, the coastal resorts offer something for everyone. Experience the bustling harbour at Whitby, follow in the footsteps of ancient smugglers at Robin Hood’s Bay or simply enjoy the traditional seaside charms of Scarborough. Shops 25 yards.
