Situated in the heart of Exmoor, very close to the renowned and historic Tarr Step, the ancient clapper bridge that crosses the River Barle, these three holiday cottages at Liscombe Farm (refs 30214, 30215 & 30216), adjacent to the owners’ home, all have their own individual character. With plenty of space around each cottage, guest can enjoy the tranquillity this stunning area of Somerset has to offer. Being located on Exmoor, there is a huge amount of walks to be made without ever having to get in the car. Follow the River Barle up to the pretty village of Withypool or a short car journey away is Exmoor’s highest point at Dunkery Beacon. Dulverton is the nearest town and has a very good selection of shops, restaurants and other amenities. During your stay, there are plenty of places to visit and things to do. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy walking along with an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Minehead is also the starting point of the South West Coastal Path which offers challenging yet very rewarding walks. Visit the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and famous cliff railway. Nearby Dunster, with its castle (NT) and village, Porlock and Porlock Wier and also Bossington and Selworthy, with its famous tea room, all make for an interesting day out. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Stabling is available at the farm by prior arrangement with the owner. Shop and restaurant 5 miles, pub 500 yards.
